I wanted to share a video that I took of A Giant Squid while working offshore in the Gulf of Mexico several years ago. Thanks for watching and please share if you enjoyed this video!
Moving a Gun Safe By Yourself With Golf Balls
Просмотров 55 тыс.3 года назад
Moving a safe with Golf Balls! I wanted to show how I moved my 750lb Browning Pro Steel gun safe by myself with only a few basic tools I had around the house. It took some time but I ended up using golf balls, two Harbor Freight tire irons and a couple of railroad spikes. Thanks for watching!
I just get my mother in law to carry my safe. She’s a real beast, never breaks a sweat.
Can't imagine what that would do to wood floors
Very cool idea, but, unforturately, I'll have to stick with using pipe.
After viewing this video I've decided to keep my guns under the bed.
Marshmallows work better!
Pulling on straps wrapped around a several hundred pound safe sitting on golf balls trying to pull it over s threshold with golf balls all over the floor where you are stepping. What can go wrong?
Unprofessional to say the least
this guy has a lot of balls
put 2 planks of wood to make the path you want, then fill the 'canal' with golf balls. Instant moving channel ! MacGyver eat your heart out !
Metal pipes is a much easier option.
Build 2×4 frame around bottom of safe it will keep the balls in and float along the floor? So your not having to use so many balls?
GREAT job!
Looks like this technique is a real ball buster.
You forgot to mention the need for basketball size balls.
Just because you CAN do this, doesn't mean you should.
Move it in 60 seconds with a hand truck
This is that diy engineering content we need. Thanks
Need a few more decals
Looks like a tip Hazzard to me , never know when the balls will become uneven and your safe will tip over. Wouldn't it be just as easy and safe to roll on pipe ?
All those years watching Wiley Coyote trying to outsmart the Roadrunner paid off!
Keep repeating this process and you'll be done by midnight
7:10 the problem you ran into is the golf balls got stuck on the threshold. Next time, don't put the golf balls so close to the threshold when you pull it through. Great video though!
this must be how the Egyptians did it!
Amazing
Brilliant. Is that LVP flooring or real wood? Did the golf balls leave any marring?
Risky
This took balls. I know, but I couldn't help it.
Has anyone tried this with basketballs? 🤔
Moved my 400kg safe yesterday using this technique and only used maybe 5 or 6 golf balls and it works awesome.. Thanks for the idea.. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
We use a hula hoop with a splice to keep the balls under the safe.
Did you bolt down the safe?
I didn't have golf balls so I used ping pong balls.
Thanks for the info. Remember if you open the door the back will lift up.
Takes alot of balls to move a heavy safe by yourself
This guys never heard of Dollie’s?? I mean he’s lifting it with tire irons not even actual pry bars so it can’t be THAT heavy
In the words of Dr. Evil, "rightttt.....".
Great idea good work
That was a great idea. Just curious if you were to make a frame a little bit bigger then your safe’s footprint and then put the golf balls inside of it how it would move around? That way the golf balls are contained and always inside of the footprint and you won’t have to move them all around.
THIS is exactly my first thought
I anybody have 500 golf balls I could borrow?
Lol! Yes, entertainment only. 🤡
Very smart idea so Im sure it will work on my other safes fine. I attempted this with my Browning Pro steel gun safe and it crushed the golf balls. My final method was pushing it with my Jeep front bumper then using my Jeep winch from different angles to finish. The funny thing is a skinny 70 year old man moved it off his trailer by himself. I said just leave it there I don't want to bother you. He said are you sure its a real beast. No its ok then he left and it sat there for 9 months when two of us could not move it one inch. That process does give me some serious peace of mind about theft.
This is genius. The problem is, golf balls are very expensive! 😵💫
not compared to a $2k + gun safe. LOL
what are the dimensions of this safe? or link to the specific browning model?
Thank you for posting this. We are having new carpet installed and our 875 pound Liberty safe needed to be moved. My husband thought I was crazy but I purchased a package of 24 golf balls anyway. Two guys easily moved that beast in under 20 minutes...and they didn't think it would work!
As someone who does this for a living a would suggest quarter inch metal dowels that are at least 24 inches long.
Metals no good it will damage the floor gotta use schedule C
Schedule 40 pvc cut into length just wider than the safe is much easier. Unless you have a massive safe the pvc can support the weight. Use about 4 so u always have 2 under the safe.
Even on carpet?
Nice bro!
whoa dude, just go to home depot and hire yourself 3 or 4 mexicans to help you.....
Then they know about your big safe.
Yes so they come back later and rob you at gun point 🙄🙄🙄
use the strap lower on the safe for better movement. Safer and won't bind leading edge. Much harder to do on a finely painted safe like an expensive Ft. Knox
Just use pipes ???
A loop of half inch rope around the safe lets you corral the golf balls. Same start, but at some point you are rolling on more balls onto more waiting balls. The individual balls dont break as easily that way. Great video though. I always did this with a couple of other couples. Just makes keeping the rope and extra balls in the right place simpler.
That's a good idea! Would have helped on the laminate. Thanks for watching and the input!
