How to configure a repository for Pages CMS (.pages.yml).
This is looks absolutely perfect for what I need! Having worked with other CMS solutions like Contentful and Strapi, I'm excited to try something that looks dead simple and fast to set up and get going - while giving my content writers access to a straightforward UI for working.
I don't understand. Do I need to update the config file for my own site? Or it is a generic config I should rarely modify?
You'll configure each site yourself, but there is a documentation for how to use it, including examples: pagescms.org/docs/configuration/ I'll be adding templates soon.
Awesome work!
This is awesome! 🎉
Simple but usefulness
Incredible work, can be used in a few minutes, congratulations! Just a quick comment: is webp image management planned for the future? It's not easy to find your way around without the thumbnail ;)
that is actually wow thank you for save us money
This is next level. Congratulations and thanks for giving this to the community!
Awesome 🎉, btw, what's the difference between pages & decap CMS?
UI
Does it work with websites that have 2 or 3 languages?
Wonderful ❤ It's really a game changer.
It's really awesome... You are doing a wonderful project. It was missing part for Static Site generators with minimal and easy to use CMS.. ❤❤❤🎉🎉
I think this is amazing. Thank you.
Looks nice, I recommend using OBS to record and using RNoise to apply noise reduction. It works wonders!
does it work with markdown or mdx?
Both.
Man this is nice thing!
Audio is important for accessibility. The product looks great. I will definitely try it.
I will record a new video in the coming week.
BTW, every comment good or not so good means that your project is very interesting. Thank you.
very cool
Why did you record this video from inside a tractor factory?
Thanks for the chuckle. I didn't realize my air purifier was blasting in the background. I'll record a new video in the next few days.
A post edit can help too
No offense but this intro video is way too long, I couldn't be bothered to watch the whole thing. You should be able to explain what your product is in under a minute. Tip: cut the uhms and the excursion on static CMS and just show me why it's cool.
Agreed.
Good stuff Ronan! I'll try it with my Next.js blog. Thank you for building this. 👏
I love this idea, you've hit a real sweet spot of functionality vs simplicity. I'm excited to try this out and have a couple potential projects in mind. The people complaining about the audio quality seem to be here expecting to be entertained, rather than expecting to learn about a cool new useful CMS concept. Not the audience that matters!
I was thinking exactly the same thing. I’m about to take on a pretty big Hugo project and I wrote my own script to start new pages when something like this easily crosses the gap.
Audio is important for accessibility. Some people need it. It's as important as anything else.
@@techstream1869 What a shame that the audio quality here interfered with the generation of closed captions-oh wait they're fine.
@@techstream1869 Agreed, I will fix the audio in a new recording this week.
Lmao again with the mic. My dude!
Doing your official product launch with audio like this is insane. What are you thinking? Delete this and reupload with proper sound. It’s degrading.
Maybe do another one with a proper mic? Even €19 earpods would record better audio than what's in this video tbh
😭😭😭👍
Why does it matter? All the information was communicated as intended and was clear enough to understand, it’s not like anyone is paying to use this app. They can use any quality of mic if it works as intended.
I actually had my Airpods on but didn't realize I had the air purifier blasting in the background. I'll fix that with a new video in the next week.
Great concept but if I want a real CMS I'm sticking with WordPress.
At least Wordpress supports many different types of malware, but it doesn't look like this CMS supports any of them. Good luck competing against WordPress if you implement none of their core feature set!
lol if by "malware" you mean CSRF, XSS, MitM, DDoS and even brute force attacks, well yes those can be performed on any CMS, and in fact that is the primary reason to prefer WordPress as it's been battle tested over years and years of intrustions, exploits, hacks and attacks .. this guy's "CMS" just dropped today on HN. Stop the cap. 😏🤣🤣🧢
lol life must be wild with a double digit IQ. Imagine being so delusional you're not only using wordpress in 2024 but calling it a 'real cms'
Publii is better
cool! but just a comment on the video itself: showing the CMS dashboard UI in the first few second of the video and explaining that it’s git repo connected would be best. Explanation of motivation could happen later in the video. Currently i had to fastforward to find a place where you actually talk about the product
Seconding this. Skip to 03:20 to see the good bits, especially if you already know what Jekyll site is.
Yeah, the first half of the video being what this is not instead of what it is almost lost me. Glad I stuck with it, though, as it's really cool.
Fair enough, I'll have a new video out in the coming week.
