Cat D4D continuing to take back overgrown orchard
Просмотров 6662 года назад
1967 D4D Caterpillar still working on taking back old orchard, vines are 20 ft high and wrapped around everything. Had to fix brush guard above blade like 5 times after getting ripped off, but better than taking out radiator or muffler or air cleaner.

1967 Caterpillar D4D, with modifications to cope with monkey vines and other limbs while clearing overgrown orchard. Added grate over blade to keep limbs out of radiator, bars around cab to keep from getting wacked by limbs, and a roof to keep the lantern flies from dropping on me.

Cleanup of old overgrown orchard using the 1967 Caterpillar dozer. It was an orchard over 30 years ago, but the fruit trees died after being taken over by poison ivy, wild grape vines, briers, poison sumac.
Essa trabalha bonito 👏👏👏
Whats the horsepower?

you need to engage the clutch , it will be running dry as it looks to have an oil clutch , main gear lever in N and F/R bar in either direction
Comp teparar los esteril
Can you tell me the difference between a blade and chain on a power saw?

good job
I just purchased a D4D this week. Non running right now. Will pick it up this weekend.
get the engine running first, clean and grease everything, then change all fluids that are bad, and try to keep the machine dry. I had to replace starter solenoid, 1 track spring, a track tension cylinder, and convert from generator to 24 volt alternator. If you run into any issues, let me know and I will try to help unless you have deep pockets and just want send it off to cat dealer.
@@scottmerlo380 No deep pockets here. Thanks for those suggestions. I talked to the 86 year old owner last night and learned that the dozer was last run just 3 months ago. The engine was recently gone through with $5,900 in new parts used in the overhaul. I apparently I got a good deal on this old D4D.
@Charles Foster order a parts manual off ebay or bother cat dealer and get new filters and oil if not changed recently. I will try and do a walk around of mine in a week or 2. Mine doesn't like cold weather so I put a port after air filter where I can preheat with a torch.
Pagou quanto aí essas máquinas antiga é tudo nova lisa aqui no Brasil só acha acabada
Se eu soubesse que tem como trazer comprava uma
Motor has good power. Looks strong for a D4
Been using it since last year, no blowby or oil consumption. It is no showpiece, but it gets stuff done that would take my tractors, excavator, or skid loader forever.
Será que custa quanto uma máquina dessa ai . Será que tem como trazer pra o Brasil

When stacking brush roll the material, then dirt will fall out and brush will stack tighter. A pin on root rake would be good for that.
around here they want 2500 for a root rake, was going to make one but found a cheap 12ft wide vibra shank cultivator to clear up roots
@@scottmerlo380 Ok that would work for clean up
Tratorzinho valente.
had to also add shield on one side of engine because limb decided to rip off my fuel bowl and mangle the bale and screw holding it on.

You need to go a little easier on the clutch.
