Could you elaborate, please? I'm not sure what you mean.
I gotta say that Holmes often sticks to his own idea of what crimes and criminals deserve to be punished. In Baskerville's I believe he gets behind the young Lord right away and the motivations of the sister/wife/ love interest are so convoluted Doyle himself needed to work out that one a bit longer. Holmes understands Lyons has basically been used. Holmes risks life and limb to be close enough to help Watson and our young Lord. All in all Holmes is pretty conservative here. Unless you count that he shot the dog which was the most innocent character of all.

It’s spelled correctly. The original Assyrian spelling was probably with two “ s “ and no “H “ ….. ASSURBANIPAL . His mothers name was ASSUR-HAMMAT. Assyrian language doesn’t exist anymore really… modern day Iraq 🇮🇶. He was the last major Assyrian King during 7th century AD
