It is possible to accept that everyone has the right to visit the place they want but it is not possible to accept collaboration with a dictatorship that is killing the Cuban people. People full of needs in Cuba, and all because that murderous dictatorship steals the money that tourists bring and uses it to promote dictatorships in other countries and that lead to the impoverishment of entire societies. You must be ashamed to collaborate with them and at the same time lie when you say that you love Cuba and Cubans. That is a great shame because all that money, far from helping the Cuban people, is plunging them into slavery and poverty. Money used to buy means of repression and increase their personal accounts in other countries to guarantee only their future and that of their families while the people go to hell Open your consciences and stop traveling to Cuba until it is a free country, without political prisoners without repression , without hunger. The services, the food and the resorts are also in a very bad conditions specially the medical services. It will be terrible if you get sick overthere. The country is currently experiencing an outbreak of a mosquito-borne disease. This disease is called Oropouche and causes very annoying and dangerous symptoms such as nausea, fever, headaches, decline in appetite and in some cases can cause a kind of meningitis. The dictatorship does not have all the means and resources to provide medical attention for the people or visitors.If they tell you otherwise , do not believe them because it is a big lie. The dictatorship has gained thousands of people since the early 1990s thanks to tourism but not a single penny of that money has been used to improve the lives of this people but to support and collaborate with other dictatorships in the region and the most visible recent example is what is happening in Venezuela where there are thousands of Cuban minions paid by the dictatorship to massacre, repress , imprison and violate the human rights of the people of Venezuela. It is time not to travel to Cuba, that bad government has destroyed a jewel in the Caribbean and you can collaborate and much in the elimination of that dictatorship. First resort I ever went to and it was great about 10 years ago. Both sides were open but only busy on one side. Didnt like the 2 hour bus ride to the resort from the airport. I wouldnt go again until they are able to bring in more food.

I see kids in resort, but it marks like 18+

This is our second time here and I strongly recommend. The staff are the best feature of this resort since they are the kindest and most professional ones we have yet to meet. The entertainment team is always willing to be available for all of us and ensure everyone is having a great time. We are looking forward to our best trip very soon and definitely will be back at Starfish Cayo Santa Maria. ☀️🏝️❤️

Le STARFISH a ré-ouvert ses portes le 15 Novembre 2022. Il était fermé depuis la pandémie de COVID19. Mais la section que l'on voit ici du STARFISH (anciennement BARCELO BEACH) a l'air totalement a l'abandon. Cela fait maintenant plus de 6 ans qu'elle est fermée car elle a subit beaucoup de dommages lors de l'ouragan IRMA en 2017. Mais des travaux sont en cour présentement et on parle d'une possible réouverture dans 2-3 ans (Tout prend tellement de temps a CUBA).

Our favourite resort! The people who work the resorts in and around this are phenomenal beautiful people. We’ve made life long family with the people we have met! Xx For those asking , the resort does have wifi now. I was able to use it in my room, lobby and on the grounds xx

The worse experience in Cayo Santa Maria. This Hotel is very bad, the quality is poor, the room is old, and the fool is terribly. Never recommend. Was in 2018.

Did you ppl not see the guy in the cart driving the old guy to the beach ask for MORE money!!!!That means your walking like 20 mins to a beach.Thats right if they threaten an old man he has to walk or pay money means it’s a really shit resort!!!

How is the food? In Cuba usually that's a big set back since they don't have access to products...

Was there absolutely the worst resort ever bIn to. The worst food comparable to canned dog food. Very few public bathrooms were actually working or had doors or seats. Rooms were filthy with stained sheets. I could go on and on. Only good thing was the beach

Остров идеально подходит как для пакетников ( туры с прямым перелетом в Санта Клару в 100 км от острова ) как и для самостоятельных туристов, есть автобусный трансфер на остров из Гаваны и из Варадеро ( остров соединен дамбой с островом Куба ). На острове хорошие отели с очень хорошим соотношением цена-качество, получше чем в Варадеро. Тут 5* может стоит как слабая 4-ка в Варадеро. Valentin Perla Blanca новый ультрасовременный отель.
