Since end 2017 I discovered backingtracks and some great musicians who create those. Tom Bailey is the most important one to me but Sebastien Zunino, MyDarnJamTracks, Nick Neblo and Elevated Jam Tracks are among my favorites as well. I love to improvise lead guitar with backingtracks and you can find a selection of my best tunes on this channel. Enjoy listening!

Patterns to find rootnotes across the fretboard
Просмотров 3721 день назад
I had a few questions about playing along with a bluestune, especially in the turnaround. So I made a video explaining things a bit more. Watching this video will answer you these questions: What is a blues actually? Where do I find the right notes to land on? And where are those notes across the fretboard? What is a cool lick to begin your solo with? 00:00 - Intro 00:25 - Pattern one 01:10 - P...

Quest of the chordtones: the fifth
Просмотров 672 месяца назад
Quest for the chordtones: the fifth Today it's time for the last of the triad chordtones: the fifth. 0-5 min I recap what we did before and show you my tennissocks The 5th is a chordtone but also in the blues it's a part of the bluesprogression, so that's another way of finding fifth's on the fretboard I will play a nice easy progression mainly alternating between Em7 and Am7. Where are the 5th...
A second look: thirds in the pentatonic scale
Просмотров 2212 месяца назад
A quick follow up on the quest of the thirds in our soloing. A comment to one of my videos got me thinking. As I like things to be as clear and non-complicated as possible I had to react. As it turned out the truth was in the middle today. It wasn't a completely new thing as the comment suggested but it also wasn't as straightforward as I thought.
Quest of the chord tones: the third
Просмотров 172 месяца назад
Quest of the chord tones: the third What is a third and how do I find them on the neck? How do I memorise easily where to find the buggers? I found a Tom Bailey track with just three different chords and it sounds awesome. Bm G A and Bm again, this cycle repeats. Very good for this kind of video. Then I play the tune and comment along the way the give you an idea what I am doing

Quest of the Root Notes (and a bit of thirds!) In this video I take you along how it sounds when you play root notes of the chords beiing played. Later I go back to the thirds so you can clearly hear how both approaches sound. 0 to 1 min Part I intro, how did we get here? 1 to 2 min Breakdown of the progression, where are our landing notes on the fretboard? 2 to 3 min Part II root notes pattern...

Fantastic ballad by MyDarnJamTracks

What a beautiful ballad by MyDarnJamTracks! I spend some time with it and even developed a simple theme to it. I tried to use less notes and am fairly happy with the result. If you're in the mood for an easy listening type ballad give this one a spin... Original track can be found here: ruclips.net/video/ghgglQh1JtU/видео.html 437 Ballad T20

I'm fucking terrible at string bending because I use 11 gauge Flatwound strings, so kudos to your skills brother. You must use light strings, 9 gauge?
It came with strings from the factory, I think they are 10s but could be wrong. On my strat I use 11 because it does sound a lot better then so I am used to that
@BasdeBeer I've been using flatwounds for years, and I'll never go back to roundwounds. The tone difference is phenomenal and the last a lot longer as well
@@MrBill1976 flatwounds are the jazz strings right? What do you like better of the tone with flatwounds?
@BasdeBeer they are actually the best strings to use for reverberated playing. That's why all surf players use them. Backvin the late 50s early 60s, pretty much any guitar recording you heard was flatwound strings. They have a much more, warm, thick tone that doesn't have that shrill brightness that rounds do. Another benefit is that you don't hear that annoying string squeak when you slide up or down like you do with rounds. Overall, a better, warmer, more vintage sound that carries tone far better than rounds. Defo give them a try brother, I think you'd love them. And yes, they are marketed as "jazz" strings, but they are used by far more than just jazz players
@@MrBill1976 Thanks maybe I should try it. I do like bending a lot though, it's a big part of the emotion in my playing.
really cool
Needs more reverb
Excellent tune very well balanced with the different lead effects, and Buck's vocals match seamlessly. I imagine rolling down the highway in a convertible on a sunny summer day with this tune cranked....Let's Go !! 👍
Thank you! And summer is right around the corner Gary!
