@@Perez-identthis is absolutely not necessary. Plenty of stock distributor KAs making 400-500 for years. Save your money and place it elsewhere. Or don’t, it is your money.

Yes that’s exactly what I did. Shop cleared the journal surfaces so I just went through with it.

If you want reliable power yes, spend the extra money to have supporting mods for your turbo. If you have Pistons cams rods etc etc you’ll be able to turn up the psi of the turbo and have more fun while being reliable :)

This is true ^ with a stock KA block you would really be able to push past like 9/10 PSI on pump without bringing risk to your piston rings. On E85 I’ve seen people run a bit higher boost and more power but of course they still had to change their fueling and tune etc. I did what I believe to be the minimum when prepping a KA for boost, just basic machine work and pistons/rods/rings, everything else has been refreshed and is still OEM. I had my rings gapped to accept 13-18 PSI. I’ve also heard the ISR turbo to withstand upwards of 380whp

I’ve built the internals to have plenty room for more power down the road but first setup I plan to achieve around 280whp give or take. I’m still on a stock tranny and don’t want to risk blowing it yet

I also am going for a street style car that looks presentable but I can take to the track occasionally, butttt we’ll see how that goes 👀

Definitely man I’ll give a peep! Yes the entire kit comes with everything you need despite a few things like injectors, MAF, ecu, oil/water lines. This kit does include its own intercooler piping kit, and turbo-back and down pipe. These will be installed in other videos!

@@Perez-ident Just been doing some research on what I want to do really. I might piece together a kit and I have seen the V2 manifold but it was a top mount on a friends Datsun 510 with a KA swap. It looked like a decent manifold. Do you know anything about how well it all fits into the car? Down pipe fits correct?

@@Knownworldwide I can’t speak on the V2 or the V3 manifold, but I know they get better than the V1 manifold, which is what is shown in this video here. I am actually a bit ahead on progress from what I have been able to post on RUclips, I have since dropped the entire motor assembly in my car, and everything fits really nicely. However, Njoku actually lets you know that you need to clearance the downpipe or the floorboard for the downpipe because there will be some interference. I haven’t gotten into that point yet to see what they mean.

@@Perez-ident Yeah I just read that. Don’t know if I like that at all. Hopefully it’s not too bad. I was thinking about the bottom mount as well to keep the heat off the brake master cylinder. I guess I will need to do some more research on what kit or manifold to run. I’m pretty set on the ISR manifold I think. As you can tell (if you saw my video) I am not near that yet either.

@@Knownworldwide you make a good point about the BMC. However, the manifold actually is a little close to the BMC/likes still. I’ve seen people run this as is but I’m likely going to make some sort of heat protection just in case. I’m not too sure how I feel about the sow pipe as well, I’m hopping the work needed to be done won’t be too bad, plus I rather clear my floorboard than my exhaust, although I rather not do that to either as I feel like the footing area for the 240 is already a lil wonky.

Don’t quite recall, but they’re fixed and were like $200 something each. I’ve enjoyed them so far

I did yes, It was a lot of footage and didn’t get that downloaded as well as other bits of footage. I actually recorded the entire disassembly to check the clearances, and filmed the re-assembly and proper torque-big AGAIN, but it was too long a video and they failed to download. I’ve taken a break all December for Christmas but I’ll be dropping more videos soon!

I actually don’t remember! I bought the ready-made kit and then used the box that the parts came in to ship back my old stuff, but I don’t recall if I paid for shipping or if they reimbursed it

This video is about 2 weeks old as I’ve actually alresdy assembled the longblock. Waiting to post more videos. I used the stock rebuild bearings. I guess now time will tell, but I trust this, and I’ll be shooting for minor power for first setup. I appreciate the info amigo

@@Perez-ident Yep, I did the same thing actually on my first build. I'm sure it will be fine for moderate power levels. I've just started building the motor for my second KA-T and will be using H series this time around. 👍
