McLearn Custom Guns
Добавлен 16 авг 2011
Matt McLearn, in 1993 won both Nationals, and the world shoot with a gun he built himself. After that, he started his business called M2i custom tactical, since then the name has changed to MCG (McLearn Custom Guns) but the quality of our guns have not. They are still the #1 custom gun on the market today. But don't take our word for it, head over to mclearncustomguns.com/ and see for yourself.
4th Place Area 2 LO
With a rough first day and my battery coming out on day two I was really happy with my 4th place finish.
This was the last match of 2024 and can't wait to see what we can accomplish in 2025!

Did I make GM???

Had fun at a local classifier match. Wasn't trying to hit GM but went mainly for the practice. I think I hit GM anyway 😂 🤷🏽♂️ I could've paid to reshoot a couple stages if I wanted but chose not too for personal reasons. #competition #competitionshooting #limitedoptics #competativeshooting #2011 #mclearn #uspsaclassifier #uspsa

Michigan Sectional 5th place finish

I could make excuses all day long as to why I lost but it all boils down to I just didn't perform as well as I should have. You'll see in the video I had some issues. Honestly not sure what was wrong but my mags got jacked up on several stages. Area 5 is right around the corner so we gotta get back to work. I am still chasing that first place finish and I can feel it coming soon.
Area 8 9th place finish

Although I didn't do nearly as well as I hoped I still learned a lot about my abilities and what I need to work on. I finished 9th place but it should have been a lot closer than that. Why? Because I've been working hard to reach my goal and I let certain circumstances from the match get in my head and completely mess me up. 90% of this sport is mental and I learned this the hard way at area 8....
Buckeye Blast limited optics stage win!

There are so many things I did wrong but what I did right was good enough for the win on this stage.
More training!

Got in a quick class with dad. He set up a stage and broke it down into 3 different parts and had me practice each part until he felt like it was good enough. Then he had me run all 3 parts together. He would critique everything I was doing and either demonstrate what I should be doing or he would let me figure out how I could make it better and then tell me whether it was right or not. Matt McLearn wins the world shoot in 1993
This is a wildly simplistic, concise, and to the point video. Thank you. Subbed!
Great shooting. If you don't mind me asking about your recoil control technique? I noticed you keep your elbows more pointed down than most shooters, but still your gun stays really flat (yeah, I know it's a steel frame 9mm with a gas pedal, but I bet you'd run a stock Glock 17 about as flat).
@@blalolblalol thank you! I don't really have a specific technique. I spent some time at the range figuring out how much bend was needed and found what I liked and tried my best to lock it in. I also did some specific workouts for my forearms and wrists to help with recoil as well. Having a good gun with good ammo helps a lot too 😂
good stuff!
good shooting Isaac. congrats on fourth!
@@elijahlabranche6218 thank you sir!
Aim bot irl.
Teach me plz!
Excellent work dude! Those reloads were wicked fast!! I need to get one of these...
So crazy to see how a gun introduced at the dawn of the 20th century has grown and evolved into one of the most futuristic looking weapons you can buy. These new 2011s along with the Laugo Alien and the FK BRNO are all straight out of the movies but they're also all practical, serious guns meant for high performance. I wonder what John Browning would say if he saw all this, he'd probably be pretty happy his designs are still popular so long after his passing.
@@zerofactor7871 it is crazy! The founder of this platform probably never thought it would turn into what we have today 😂 I think John would be pretty proud tho
I'm 5th. Yay. 3 GM runs. But too many other 80%ers that messed up my overall score. Making 95% is tuffffff. Nice runs!!!
@@kevinjohnson3925 haha agreed! I'm going to make GM without "gaming" the system tho. At least that's my goal
Those are some fast reloads!
@@cornydad thank you! Lots of dry fire!
Good shooting. How did you place?
@@josiah_kramer thanks man! Placed 31st
@@mclearncustomguns9835 nice! That's pretty darn good.
@@josiah_kramer super happy with it for being in the sport for 2 years and only shooting LO for 9 months
@@mclearncustomguns9835 yeah, I'd be happy with that too. I'm going to try and shoot area 5 next year and see what happens, I hit A after 3 matches this year, so I'm going to train like a madman and see what happens next year. Lot to learn from you and others videos. Hope to see you at a match sometime!
@@josiah_kramer yes sir! Check out Tom Castro's videos. Super helpful. Also dad teaches classes if you're interested. If you have Instagram shoot me a message. We'll try to shoot together sometime 🤙🏽 @mclearnoutdoors
Great shooting and a great gun !
@@MKtactical thank you sir!
Nice shooting, that muzzle control when you fell was impressive. And your target order on the one with 12 targets was smart, merging the first 8 targets into 1 shooting position sorta. I just started USPSA this year, and earned A class at this match on Sunday. Can’t wait for more matches next year.
@@josiah_kramer yeah the only thing going thru my head was "watch the muzzle" 😭😂 thanks man! Seemed like the best plan for that stage
@@mclearncustomguns9835 I have been overly cautious ever since getting DQ’d at my first match in July. I broke 180 pretty bad cuz I lost my focus lol. I guess I learned the hard way 😂
Nice reloads
Thanks!
I'm so glad I watched this! I just received my 5 inch Prodigy and I shot just fine with it until I put a Magwell which was causing my hand to ride too high engaging the safety so in my head I'm thinking I'm going to have to put my thumb on top of the safety and come to find out that's the right grip
@@cameronmills3414 glad to hear it helped!
Blazing. Your Dad taught you well 😂
@@MKtactical yes sir he did 😂
Any quicker and the gun would have caught fire.

There's a guy ben stoeger whose 2011 staccato keeps failing, what are some reasons and they had people try diagnose but to no avail. This is the experience with many shooters
@@inferna7327 could be multiple issues unfortunately. 2011's have to be built right in order to get 100% reliability. He can send it to us and we can diagnose the issue. Ben is a great guy!

It's a sport! Also great training for self defense
Good work man!
Nice work Matt; thanks for the great work you are producing…
Just finished a two day training with him. Very cool! Video and equipment have came a long ways, but Matts teaching technique is right on par IMO! As was his patience in putting up with a bunch of Arizona goofballs!
Wow! I've never shot in a match. I'm starting to think I might try it.
I like shooting with my thumb over the safety but sometimes the 'meat' of my hand does not engage the grip safety. Any suggestions / thoughts?
@@brianbailey7128 I apologize for getting back with you after a year 😑 just now seeing this for some reason. This is a common issue. We adjust the grip safety to be more sensitive making it easier
Wow
That is some nice work!
What’s the compensator on the 2 guns with poly grip?
That is the Gen 1 version of what we use now. Gen 2 has 2 additional side ports.
@@mclearncustomguns9835 is it able to screw directly onto a threaded barrel? Really interested in getting one, seems to be exactly what I’m looking for
It depends on the threads on your barrel. Our threads on the comp are 11/16x40
