    Me when several years back then realy like technology and science when I get job in engineering company doing the job everyday for couple of years I realize this not enjoyment anymore. I found playing violin with community more fun, I feel happy when I discover new thing about how to play violin better. Its make me want to walk in journey of musician and cant wait whats else the inspiration that I can get from walkinh in this path.

    A beautiful rich & live sound! My first violin was based on a Guarneri pattern, but I wasn't so faithful with the arching though & tended to tailor that to my desire at the time. I also set it up & played it in the white for a while before finishing as I wanted to try the Sacconi Strad 'secret' treatment method (with waterglass). It did have a 'live' sound in the white.

    This is very interesting! Have you tried making varnish with just the rosin and linseed oil? There's a 13th century book with that recipe for 'wood varnish' and I was thinking about trying to make it and use on one of my historical harps, but it would be great to hear from someone with experience before I set my house on fire...

    That is a great sounding violin (or fiddle as we call it here in Kentucky)! How much would an instrument like that cost? My grandfather was an amazing first-generation bluegrass fiddler, and he enjoyed doing various setups on his instruments to see how they would respond. You're a wonderful player and thanks for sharing!

    Both sound wonderful. I prefer the more open and robust sound of the Guarneri. I usually prefer a real Guarneri over a real Stad, though there is a real Gasparo da Salo played on the aTonalHits YT Channel that I find breathtaking.

    • @geigenbauhellmich2296
      @geigenbauhellmich2296 Месяц назад

      I think the Strad will open up, too. Once it got played and the varnish completely dried out. Give it a year and it will be fantastic as the Guarneri. I prefer to have a softer sound first because if it is too strong in the beginning it might get very harsh over the years and "empty" if you know what I mean. I will defonitelly give the Da Salo a go and maybe try to make it.

  • @picksalot1

    Absolutely gorgeous sounding Violin! One of the very best I've heard on YT. Each string speaks so clearly and responsively. The "G" string has none of the tonal oddities that can challenge that string and register. Congratulations on making such an extraordinary instrument. Your customer is very lucky, and I totally understand why you would not want to sell that Violin. The real test is going to be how closely you can replicate or improve that sound in another instrument. I only discovered your Channel today, so I look forward to watching more of your videos.
