Yup, I had an A5 quattro until recently, 60% rear torque split. Rotating it using a throttle in the wet was fun.

@@sheeshulex my gf has the first generation r8 and we made a hard turn and the back came out from behind and that’s when I got the RUclips to research why that happened on a all wheel drive car and we learned that day to treat it like a rear wheel drive car lol 😂. The a5 is a great car and I have driven both the old one and new one. The old one looked better but the new one was more solid feeling. 😎

Yes it is, audi 5 series neutral power split is 40% front 60% rear. However it is also variable, so it can send up to 85% power to the rear wheels and up to 70% to the front ones. Also the way quattro is set up in these cars is it automatically uses breaks on each individual wheel to help it turn better in corners, ie if you're making a hard left it will apply breaks to the rear left wheel so the outer wheel spins faster, giving better handling. But it's because of these wonderful systems that you can't really drift them on dry asphalt, it always wants to get itself straight

5 series are RWD biased, so they can slide under slippery conditions really well, I mever had understeer in my A5, only oversteer. However, the car still is AWD, so on dry asphalt they just refuse to slide, they want to keep going straight

AWD pulls itself straight... With those tires he got too much traction... In the snow its a different story, but in the summer breaking traction is quite hard with quattro

That didn’t look like TCS; it wouldn’t do it with it on. This is just a heavy AWD car.

The sport diff would definitely be nice, you could also get an aftermarket lsd that’s geared a little higher. Either way, it needs a rwd conversion to decrease drivetrain loss and weight, plus it’ll feel better to drive. Would love to see one converted to rwd with an lsd and some bolt ons + e85 tune.

@@samym4925Car and Driver got a manual B8 S5 to 60moh in 4.8 seconds and the quarter mile in 13.4@105mph. Nothing crazy, but not bad at all. Audi should’ve offered it in rwd (less drivetrain loss and less weight), it would’ve been quicker. The option of the dct or 8hp would’ve helped as well

If you think this halves the life of the engine and transmission I want whatever you’re smoking sure it wears the tires a little but not much, cars are meant to be driven and this is an S5 they had performance driving in mind this is less abuse than it would see on a racetrack
