DoorDash for groceries too. 5X as it’s considered as eats
westjet sucks. Worst airline in Canada currently. And another strike looms this week, I wouldnt book them.
The Westjet Calgary lounge is one of my favorite in the world. They even have a kids play area in the back.
Great breakdown on the platinum! I loved the cobalt review as well. Would love to see a break down on the gold!
Do you recommend round trip or single flights for point redemptions
Does LCBO in Ontario count as food and drink
No 1x there
Thank you for the clear explanation
Aspire lounges are really bad and OVERCROWEDED!!!
You are a master!
Is the lounge food free if you book business class seat?
or Priority Pass. All inclusive.
Does anyone know which grocery store sells gas gift cards and takes AMEX in Toronto? Also, does Walmart count as a grocery store?
Maybe Metro?
the subscribe button lit up when you pointed at the light @7:23 😆 cool feature!
I was wondering if the Canadian version of the Platinum card was worth it... And not at all... The credits offered in the Canadian version is so low and almost no variety whereas the US version has a long list of statement credits, from Walmart to Uber Eats... On top of that the multiplier points in the Canadian card... What a joke... The spending credit needed for the welcome bonus is so high too, the US version is $8,000 in 6 months! Honestly, it is not worth it. Thanks for the comparison tho, very informative! Thank you!
I have a question. Is something like cobalt card for aeroplan points really worth over a 3% Rogers cashback card In Canada? I looked at the cash value of the flights compared to aeroplan redemptions and its hardly worth it from what I see. Its only worth it on select, cherry picked business class flights at best or am I missing something? Thanks
Thanks for the fantastic video!
I am going to use your tips and tricks, I have recently got into points (Cobalt + Gold) and plan to save a few bucks travelling :)
wow, subscribed right away, this video was nicely done, easy to follow, no complex lingo :)
Awesome, detailed yet simple to follow video thank you!
Absolutely worth it if you fly often and can use the lounges. I typically get the annual fee back from the Dining Credit, Travel Credit, and Amex Offers on things we would have bought anyways.
As long as you buy at a grocery store and it’s available there I’ve received 5x every time
Wrong Walmart isn't considered a grocery store yet amex is accepted there don't give false info as fact
Great video, I was just wondering if there’s any benefits to this card such as priority security? Specifically at YYZ
Yep, we get a priority security line at YYZ. Great for traveling in peak hours where the line is almost out the door
In Air Canada Signature lounges (Toronto-and Vancouver) they do come around and take your drink and meal order from a special menu.
Loved it, thanks!
Is there a better card in Canada other than the Amex Platinum?
Amex black (aka centurion) but you need 250k-500k + annual spending on Amex to be CONSIDERED for this super premium card…
Last November I flew business class on WestJet's 787 from Calgary to Paris. I had a window pod such as the one you're in. I really enjoyed it. Next month I'm flying from Calgary to Tokyo, again with WestJet 787 business class.
Thank you for someone to finally come out with a Canadian perspective
Omg yes McGill is such a great location! I made a similar video before too!
Can you buy Costco gift cards online for 5x?
Nope
Save on takes Amex
Great tips! 👍🏻
going to fly this route/plane in economy in 32k this summer, at the front of the last section of economy. I'm about 6'2, so I hope the legroom isn't terrible. I hope the experience isn't too bad
You are so funny! Thanks for taking one for the team!
I was in Oslo February 2024 and loved it! It was crazy cold. I also went to Rjukon and Telemark. Thanks for your video! Cheers from Vancouver Island
So good and straight forward!
I guess those who can pay $800 for the annual fee can/will most likely spend $10K in 3 months. For most people, this is quite a stretch. RBC Avion VISA Infinite has a $5K in 6 months condition to get additional 25K Avion points...which seems like a reasonable time frame than this one.
Avion points are quite restrictive. You easily spend 10k if you pay utilities, groceries, renos, gas...things that u already spend...put it on the card instead of using cash. Pay the entire bill off each month.
7th row in business class are the least desirable window seats. They are consistently the last window seats to get book.
This was a very informative review 👏
This should have been an 8mins video
Thanks for the fantastic content! I can tell you are in Winnipeg because of your dining credit. Wouldn't it be nice if Amex gave Winnipeggers more than one dining credit restaurant choice!?! I don't think I'm going to renew my Platinum card for many reasons, one of them being this limitation.....
Thanks for this. I booked 7K on my upcoming AC B777LR based on your video.
I just ordered platinum card . when am I supposed to pay annual fee? Right now or after a year?
the annual fee should be charged on your card within the first or second statement.
Great video. Thanks.
Thanks Kate, appreciate it!
Great review Graeme, especially the rundown on lounge access.
Thanks Chris!
Any way to filter a cheap Aeroplan business class on which date/time?
Good video but bad audio.
Ryanair never tells you to print anything, they just tell you have to pay 55€ if you don't check in online which are two completely different things. No jetbridges is not common in Europe, it just is everywhere where Ryanair flies too. A lot of major airports where RYR flies too also have seperate terminals just for them where they don't install jetbridges bc Ryanair doesn't want them. This video is just full of half truths or complete lies to list them all so if anyone actually wants to see a realistic, true and factual review of Ryanair - this one's not it.
Pop not soda. You are Canadian.
Is that really surprising in North America that you have to print your boarding pass? I flew across the Europe many times and every airline had their own app to download on the phone and only handful of people had their boarding passes printed. Every single airport in Europe has these 'crappy airport stores'. There are jetbridges in almost every European airport. Ryanair just doesn't use them as they are trying to cut the costs in every regard. They didn't remove the table to 'reduce costs'. You won't find a table in any 737-800 in emergency row due to safety reasons, that's why they are hidden in the armrests. Idk why you named the video hilarious truth about Ryanair when it was mostly you not knowing anything. Please, next time it may be a good idea to do the research before making any video like that one.
Your issues with Stansted are justified, though they would apply to all airlines using the airport and not just Ryanair. The over-wing seats that you booked do not have 'normal' trays for safety reasons, but do have them in the arm-rest part of the seat. They're not as useful as the ordinary ones but are adequate. I don't actually have any issues with Ryanair; all travel requirements are fully explained and they are unbeatable for price. I have looked at alternative airlines but I can't justify paying the extra expense. I sympathise with people who have had bad experiences with Ryanair, but I will continue to use them in the future.
What about Amex?
