That’s all it takes to set up. Who the hell designed this cheap thing
Can you advise on these settings that you are mentioning to refer to the menu? I do not have the manual and have no luck finding it online. Also many of the settings you are talking about have multiple choices but you don’t mention why you’d choose any over another.
YEs he shows what the settings are for but we have NO idea what our numbers should be for our given application. I have really hard city water so I'm stumped. Not sure how anyone figures out the best settings for their given water application
What a joke! He makes it more complicated than what it is
I just move in the house when turn on softener after softener on later the water come out faucet like tea color please tell me what going on please
I have same exact one and understand it. But when I click next after softening, it goes straight to Fill settings and backwash and all that. I can’t find Salt setting anywhere. Does that mean it’s automatically setting to salt pounds per whatever I set the grain capacity at?? Thanks
Can I change hardness settings to 15? Mine is set at 10.
Thanks so much for that. I was so sick of it waking me up at 2am. Now I have it set for 8am. Was super easy once I knew to hold the next and up arrow. Literally took me 5 seconds to program it once I knew HOW.
Good to know about the new products with saltless softener...
A physics class would help too rotffl
My VCR still blinks 12.00 I need help!!!!!
Is this a clack valve?
My softener is beeping … and I can’t find the button to turn of the salt reminder. Is it a reminder for salt refill?
Is there a video that shows the set up for filter mode instead of softener mode?
Bought this tank and trying to figure that out too
WTF does all of that mean? Gonna contact my supplier instead. DIY just went out the window 😂😂😂
Do not ever buy Safeway water filtration as if you lose your installer contact, the company does nothing to help you to figure out how to order replacement filters. They are so rude on the phone and bluntly tell you to figure it out yourself. I asked politely to assist with installers identification that they distribute to, the excuse was that the system was down and they wouldn’t even take my contact for when the system would be back up. Extremely rude and unprofessional. So get your system from another source, there are so many options out there with polite and professional people. Safeway should be out of business with the way they run it and distribute their products.
Thank you, but wayyyyy too technical with too many unknown variables.
I don't use your company, but my softener system seems to use the same computer (a clack, I think). I'll try this over the weekend. After reading the manual and watching this video, it's no wonder I couldn't understand the manual. A bit of a confusing process, due to lack of buttons and screen resolution. Thanks for this.
thanks for this video - my system was regening too often
Great video. I’m re-setting up my softener ( 5 button clack head ) why when I go to hardness does 1:35 it say na ?
How do you know if the system is working or not? I see a slight softening effect and I see 5 inches of water on top of my salt in the big cylinder, so is it working? Is there a sitting which I need to change to make it soften more?
What is the capacity remaining amount should be? I have a 50gal water heater and everytime it Regens it generates 1445 should it be a higher number? How do I change it
Awesome tutorial. One day I'll upgrade to a wifi one and do it on my phone. But that day will be long away. My softener head has been going strong for 8 years
Hello and thank you for sharing. My question is. If we loose power for an hour or so do I have to reprogram it again.? Thanks in advance
If power goes out, the system will keep time for up to 8 hours or until the battery is depleted. If a power power outage of more than 8 hours occurs, the time of day will flash on and off, which indicates a time of day should be reset. The system will remember the rest. If a power outage last less than 8 hours and the time of the day flashes on and off, the non-rechargeable battery should be replaced. I got this information directly from the manual. Good luck.
@@67herby89thank you! My time is fine despite the power outrage. The only problem I have is that I am not getting any water.
That’s weird because water doesn’t run on power but on pressure. Do you have some sort of pump that pumps water it the water softener or your filter?
I got error 101 anyone know what it means?
"That's all it takes to setup this system" made me LOL.I feel like I need to quit my job and enroll in a 4-year degree program to understand this device/system. But I took a lot of notes and I'm just going to set it and hope for the best. This really is an informative and helpful video, I appreciate you trying to simplify this complicated task. Edit to add: I called the plumber who installed it to ask for guidance on the settings, they let me know that if the power goes out ONLY THE CLOCK needs to be reset, and the other settings are saved in the device from the original install. FYI.
Seriously, I’m going to need to enroll in that 4-year program too
Thank you. I had the system installed 2 weeks ago and am not feeling any difference you normally feel with soft water, so I go to troubleshoot and have zero idea. I have the programming guide but to your point it feels like you need a degree, it's not user friendly to a non-technician.
Mine didn't
I need to talk to someone who can walk me through this. The screen looks the same but when I push next it doesn't have the same settings. I'm so confused and could really use some help. Do you have a company number I could call ? I'd be willing to pay a service call if I could just get things resolved. I just moved into this house and have no idea what to do. My water works fine, I just need to know if my system is set up correctly. HELP !!!!
Appreciate the video but it's a little too tech for me not ever having a water softener before. Just moved into a home that previously installed Premium Safeway water softener system. The original installer came by and gave me a quick tutorial and changed the filter but I'm not sure it's set up correct as I have no manual to double check settings. I'll be contacting Safeway tomorrow to obtain a manual for the model I have. Unfortunately, there are no photos or manual links on safeway's website.
My kid unplugged my system the other day. When I plug it back in do I need to go through all of this and program all the settings again or will the setting all still be the same as they were before it got unplugged?
Thanks for the upload. Appreciate it.
Light is off on water softener
"thats all it takes to reprogram our regen" yeah ...thats all
Great video! If you're here because your water tank is empty, don't panic! This new Sterling Water System isn't like your old one. The one you're used to still has a little water and sludge at the bottom. This new system will cycle your water through and once it detects you're out of salt. The tank takes notice and doesn't refill. In an attempt to preserve your water system from damage without adequate salt level. To keep this from happening again. Make a note of the date's and time you fill up the salt and time of water tank fill up. Place a pen and notepad next to your water system to make a quick note to self. Also, the best reminder is one that tells you when to check it. So use your smartphones calendar, set the time with an alarm on the day to refill salt. You will get to know what time that is for you as you check back in 2/3 weeks. As mentioned here, if it's completely out of water. After you have refilled your tank with (salt halfway*). It's best to start a manual cycle to start your system asap. If not, your system will only try and refill once it reaches it's normal scheduled time. Also, there is an overflow on your water tank, so if you overfill with salt. Your system may put out an overflow of water, if it doesn't adjust to stop in time. Placing a large old drinking cup underneath that hole is always a good idea to leave there. Especially if you have an older system, or may overfill. *If able don't only buy the exact amount of salt needed. Buy at least 2/3 bag's extra of the *correct salt for your system. Make sure to store it in a dry and safe place. It makes this less of a hassle then having to run to the store at night, or in inconvenient weather. Most of all, it makes life a litte easier to think ahead. *If doing your own "filter changes", always keep a spare. Check it when filling your salt. Some are easy to see and change. If it looks orange, dirty or rusty water. It's more than overdue for a change. The first thing you need to do is make sure your main water valve to the filter is shut off. Then go to the nearest sink, close to your system and turn on the faucet. This is a run out of any remaining water in your lines. Make sure you have a small bucket, required removing tool to unscrew your filter reservoir. Be careful, you don't want to damage the filter reservoir using the wrong tools/metal tools. You may be able to unscrew it by hand if you're able to reach it and have the strength. Once it's off, set it in your bucket and take it someplace to clean. Once clean, place in your new filter. I advise applying a generous amount of petroleum based jelly/plastic lube around the reservoir threading once clean. Make sure to wipe away any debri from underneath the unit your reservoir screws into as well. Applying a thin coat of lubricant on that threading (creating a proper seal & easier to remove later). Hand tighten as you make sure you're threading it on properly. You don't want any cracking or leaking. Remember to turn on your main water supply once you're finished. Then look around your filter reservoir as it refills with water, making sure there are no leaks. After all that and reading this, you're done! Lol
My console shows NA for hardness when I am trying to set. Can you suggest what to do?
You saved me $80 service call to reset regeneration time. This video was very easy to understand and follow. Great job! Thank you 😬
That’s all it takes!! He says it’s like building a damn rocket 🚀
Good video
I’m not getting the options to change the capacity for regeneration. I push the next and down buttons but nothing happens.
Regen today is blinking Is that supposed to happen?
I know this much, yes it will regenerate at the scheduled time.
Next and down arrow doesn't do anything. I've tried unplugging for hours and it just work
Great video. Does anybody know what he means by 'reserve capacity' in gallons? Is it the brine tank capacity or the tank with the resin pellets?
Can regen time of this softener be the same regen time as an iron zapper? Or should they be offset ?
I have problem we see massage alarm and It say Call Day
my softener show message like this CALL and dont working
The menu of editing the program code dosnt exsist in my valve
question. the capacity says "x 1000. but shouldn't it say "x 100" because 24.5 = 2,450 gallons. correct? this always confused me.
I hold down next and down but nothing happens
Same
This looks like the Clack valve.
Mine is set to regen at 2am, but the display flashes "softening" at different times of the day. What's that mean?
Softening means that it's a water softener setup and someone or some thing is using water while you're out there looking at the display.. I have 2 tanks and controllers, one is a Filter and the other one is a Softener. My wife was running the water inside while I was looking at the display and each read Filtering and Softening.
Thank you for this vid!!
