@@LandoMacD Just an fyi. Try to develop your dink game a bit more. When you climb higher in the ranks, players have such good counters, you can't just speed it up whenever and expect to win those points or even expect those points to be 50/50. Higher levels will just require more patience. But good job on everything else.

@@bennetrau3441 If I was 3.5, I wouldn't be encouraging people to rate themselves appropriately, I would encourage 3.5 to classify their footage as 4.5. Just be realistic with your ratings. If you're a B student, don't say you're an A student. If you're a C student, don't say you're a B student. Just be honest with yourself. People overrate for an ego boost.

hahahaha love the comment man. pro players hands are so fast they can't get away with silly speed ups like us. I am very against powerful / poppy paddles for this reason. People want to see extended fire fights!

Its interesting because there is a delicate balance between fun to watch and skill ceiling. If paddles become very fast, the amount of skill required becomes higher, but it’s not as fun to watch because of there being less firefights. But slow paddles allow firefights to happen more often, but the sport becomes easier. It happened with ping pong, where the ball became less spinnier and slower just because the table tennis federation wanted longer rallies so fans are more excited

@@SubparProgrammer yeah for sure. I like the speed of paddles and long firefights. I’m kind of more talking about the extended dink rallies and “perfection” play in pros. 90% of games I watch are dink rallies where someone eventually (after a long boring rally) makes an unforced error. More speed ups, lobs, ATPs, etc to get the ball going make the game so much better. I even understand the conservative serves and returns (even if I’d rather see crazy ones) it’s just the long dink rallies I can’t stand to watch. If I’m watching the highest level, I want to see exhibition of skill, not who can hit the ball the softest, the most times in a row. There are exceptions, just not many.

Ya this is actually a very accurate representation of 4.5. You have to remember too, these are the highlights which is probably why it's making them look like 5.0+ The main reason it's 4.5 is because they are getting away with certain balls that should be punished and not taking advantage of others. Pink shorts is the strongest player who's probably not too far off from 5.0
