The Star Wars Cantina theme played on 4 steppers
The bottom motor plays a huge part in this cover
The fact one of the turrets actually turn their guns as an instrument makes this so much better, as a 1:1 irl recreation would mean you would need sirens and motors.
So these motors are not silent ok
What's a stepper motor? Sorry, I've just never seen one before
Can I use this in a portal find mod I have been working on as a Easter egg?
Sure! Let me know when your mod is released so I can check it out👍🏼
maybe mount them onto some wood resonator, for bether sound. Maybe a big one,for low notes,a middle big one, for middle notes, and a small one for high notes.
How would one set this up
I've been addicted to the Portal Songs since the first time that I ran across " The Sound Of Science". And I HAVEN'T ACTUALLY PLAYED A VIDEO GAME SINCE THE IMMORTAL #4!
I always feel like the bottom motor...
watch this on 0.75x speed to feel nostalgic
Your smart house system has been hacked by : Aperture Science
0:08 why does this part specifically sound so damn awesome
The tone change
pretty nice
HOW IS THIS CHANNEL DEAD???
I hope you can continue this channel, even with this support (how is it so small)
Speed 0,75 - perfect
Thank you @Danil Bronnikov , very cool
What are you doing STEP-MOTOR?
this is great XD
Those are huge
Okay, that's cool and all . . . But we're getting too close to making a functioning turret that sings.
Is that a bad thing?
@@jacobprentice2649 Mounted defense turrets around the white house that are also intended to play the national anthem but get hacked, start playing Daisy, and begin firing on anyone in sight.
There's already one on Valve's office. It has tracker, voice and everything. Literally just need a gun part to fire bullets.
Well now I want to see someone use the silent driver option on their CNC or 3D printer and have it set to make sound when the right notes will play, and put in some extra steps they can sneak in to keep the music going without weird pauses while the next note comes up, then show the results of the sound and the print/cut
I had the same idea in mind, when I worked on this project 👍🏼
fucking awesome, I want to reprogram the cnc to this warm up cycle
The bottom motor shows my friends contribution on projects...
Me on accident :( sorry I try hard to help but I always feel like I'm not doing enough
Sir your stepper motor seems to be out of tune. (Sounds great though)
-what is your instrument? this man: steper motor
this feels like a chaotic in between of regular and defetcive turrets singing
yes and reminder to hear it again
@@pepelan9125 ty, gonna listen to it now
"I'm different!"
Please do "want you gone"
Wow
Damn bro those are some heavy ass motors
Portal 2 in a Chinese toy
oh hey! Would you post your python code please? :D I just got some steppers and I want to test them out!
Wait what the actual fuck is this
I think you will recognize only, if you really know this piece. Maybe also only, if you once played,or tried to play it on piano. Some notes are pretty good played, and some are brutally off. But if you know it by heart, you will still enjoy, cause you hear the importand stuff, and are able to filter out the rest/interpret it the right way. Its just like as if you where to listen to someone, who doesnt talk very clearly on a subway station. If you know the language properly, you will understand. Else you wont.
@@neutronenstern. i dont even remember commenting the original comment lol
0.75 speed
Indeed
you enlightened me
The four dislikes are pobably from your old steppers
This is shit awkward ridiculous
This sounds slightly out of tune.
EVEN BETTER
tlisten to this at 2x trust me it sounds awesome
Yup
It is a little bit like a creepy pasta :D Nah, very awesome project!
Great video ; D
This is great
The in Side of a turret
I want to experiment with this kind of tech in our local hackerspace. Is the code available anywhere? Or do you have any tips for someone wanting to try a similar thing? Great work, Thanks!
I wish I have a stepper that big
if portal was in a circus
What in the world kind of motors are those monsters? NEMA 500's?
LMAO
look like nema 34's: The length specifies the torque they can output. Yes, they are beasts...
I know the sound even sounded more deeperish and not as sharp.
I've seen so much of this stuff, I still love it.. LOL
Eyy that's pretty good
still alive any time soon?
+(S-F)Mr. Frog Hi Mr. Frog, yes I'm still alive, working on other projects right now! Do you want to see any specific song? Maybe I'll find the time to record it for you.
scrawlEd well then, how about portal - still alive. :D
scrawlEd oh, one more request, could you do the cavestory theme? my and my friend would love to hear it!, i can supply a midi file (if you use midi for the stepper motors)
I would like reconstructing science
Hey man, wanted to write you a personal message, but couldn't do that. I really love your work. Are you an engineer? I am an experimental composer and I am also using stepper motors, dc motors, relays and many other old hardwire for my music. Since I am not a good programmer I use arduino, coupled with maxuino to control the steppers through Max Msp. I wonder what are you using? p.s. are you from germany?
Was planst du denn mit deinen Schrittmotoren? Vor dem Programmieren habe ich mit einem Gitarrenstimmgerät die richtigen RPMs für die entsprechenden Noten gesucht und habe dann die Software geschrieben, die mithilfe dieser Daten .midi Files abspielt. cheers! ;)
A bit slow and out of tune but nonetheless great work!
try 1.5 (solves the tempo issues)
