I did a quick Google search. The result: "Cessationism is a doctrine that spiritual gifts such as speaking in tongues, prophecy, and healing ceased with the Apostolic Age. The doctrine was developed in the reformation and is particularly associated with the Calvinists." I don't adhere to that view, but I am cautious about such things. I've seen "speaking in tongues" misused, and doctrines taught about it that I find questionable. I approach claims about such things taking place with a degree of skepticism because I know some will use such claims to gain "validity" as being more spiritual. We must be open to the work of the Spirit, but we must also be discerning. "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world." (1 John 4:1 NKJV)

I agree that money in and of itself is not inherently evil of course. But it’s very important to quote the other verses in the Bible that clearly speak overwhelmingly negatively about riches. And most explicitly the teachings of Jesus. In most cases in order to accumulate wealth it takes a great deal of effort and devotion to it. And I would also submit most people with wealth would say it doesn’t have their heart. And yet they spend far more time serving money than they do serving Christ. The most Christ like men you will ever meet will look like Christ and he said the son of man has no place to lie his head. Is it possible to have wealth and love Jesus possibly but it’s a dangerous choice after reading the the words of Jesus.
