Jimmy LaFave Official Music
США
Добавлен 11 мар 2019
Official RUclips page for Jimmy LaFave.
Jimmy LaFave was born in Wills Point, Texas. He started school in Mesquite and by Junior High was making music perched behind his Sears & Roebuck drums kit. It wasn’t long before his mother traded a drawer full of green stamps for his first guitar, and the switch to singer-songwriter was in progress. His family later moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma, where he finished high school. Jimmy lived in Austin, TX for nearly 30 years, but is often identified as being from Oklahoma because of his strong musical ties to the state and his role in the development of “Red Dirt Music.” Early on he embraced the spirit of Woody Guthrie and worked to promote Guthrie’s legacy around the world in both words and song.
Jimmy LaFave passed away on May 21, 2017 from myxofibrosarcoma, a rare form of cancer but his legacy through music and art will continue.

Jimmy LaFave - Tomorrow Is A Long Time
Beautiful
God I miss this man and his band
🍀
If I was ever told that for the rest of my life I could only listen to one artist, I would immediately and without hesitation choose Jimmy LaFave. Something about his voice and his guitar (and his amazing band) heals and uplifts me. The songs he wrote are absolutely beautiful, and the songs he did covers for, are better than the originals. That angelic voice, my God! It still hurts me deeply that he was taken from us in 2017. I hope he knew how much we loved him.
Jimmy's absence still hurts me to the core, here, at the end of 2024. The world lost a rare and precious treasure. Jimmy LaFave, we will always love and remember you.
How have I not heard this man’s beautiful music before.Truly a gifted artist.
Welcome to Jimmy's music! We're glad you're here.
Jimmy's music changed my life in the late 90s. He continues to enrich it as I recently created a Spotify playlist of my favorite Jimmy LaFave songs, which I listen to every day. I hardly ever listen to any other artists anymore. Jimmy just touches my soul.
@@megatuanis Thank you for sharing!
Thank YOU for sharing this beautiful and priceless video!
I came to hear this man’s music through Charlie Hollis God Rest His Soul. Love the music. I loved & adored Charlie. He was one of my husband, James Falkners , best friends from the Stillwater days. The Duncan house & The great band U . Both passed from cancer & now it’s taking me. Thems the breaks.
Oh wow, Janice. Thank you for sharing your story! Charlie Hollis was an important person in Jimmy's life and we have some wonderful recordings from his Studio 131 in Oklahoma. Sending health and healing to you.
My musician🎸 brother😢 introduced me to his music 🎶 before they both passed from Cancer. I still cry to his song " Deportee"
I love and miss this man so much. He always made me feel like I was the only woman in the room.

I was at this show, Jimmy did an amazing "Magnolia" in tribute to his friend J.J. Cale who had recently passed. Any chance you can post it? He was such a colossal talent and the interplay between Rad, Glenn, Bobby and Phil is extraordinary. How we miss him!
We'll see if we captured Magnolia and if so, will definitely post it here.
