As a veteran who lives less than 5 miles from the nearest Active Duty Military Base, I have to drive two to four hours east or west of me just to get seen at a VA facility. A facility that has a 2-6 month wait time for appointments. The VA clinic in my home town is nothing more an information kiosk next to a seniors outreach center that is far more capable in being helpful for seniors. Dental? non existent unless it's ainjury incurred in the line of duty (even though the US Army pulled my teeth to deploy me, and promised to upkeep care when I got back only to backtrack on that deal). I can't get Glasses near me because if I go to a doctor of my own expense I will lose any VA Medical care. So, barring going to the ER for life threating events, I'm left hanging in the wind, and at the Mercy of the VA system for care. I'm not alone. It makes no sense for a verteran to have to drive hours out of their way for a hour long appointment, and the only thing the VA reimeburses you for is gas, if your lucky, when professional and equally competent care is avilable in your home town... or there are medical facilities at the installation you live less than 5 miles from.

Privatization of VA care leaves us veterans vulnerable to the merciless greed driven policies plaguing the civilian population. Private gatekeeper organizations only make profits if care is denied. Denial of care is their only reason for being. The civilian population is becoming appropriately enraged by their miserable health care policy outcomes. Please don’t put us in that situation.

No VA care for anyone with a deferment ,bought ,especially for bone spurs .

Republicans have wanted to privatize the VA for a long time. Once they do they'll take our pensions and other nonmedical benefits. Historically politicians have always hated veterans.

Do you want to improve our care? Stop remodeling Va hospitals and start caring about us. The patients. Stop hiring and firing. I finally got a therapist, and then they got rid of them and brought in new people. How many doggone therapists do I need to go through before you finally give me one that will stay? Do you wanna help us? For some of us, there is no help. My body will never recover. My mind will never recover. I'm a dead man walking. How about you pay us at a 24/7/365, instead of an 8 hour day? I am in pain emotionally and physically 24/7/365. You can't ask for physical pain relief because they will brand you a drug abuser. For heavens' sake, dont ask for pain medication or tell them you smoke marijuana, even though it doesn't really help with the pain because they'll call you a drug abuser. Yet they will constantly push mood altering drugs on you even after you tell them that they make you feel bad and not care and have suicidal thoughts, not out of pain or sadness, but out of the thought that it doesn't really matter. I feel nothing right now.What is the point of being alive if I feel nothing. You can't even have sex on that shit.. For god's sake, don't tell them you have bad thoughts because they'll lock you up. I can not do the things I used to do before I join the army. Like, have friends, or relationships of any kind, it seems. I had many friends while I was in. They were like family. I got out, and I just lost them. I just stopped talking to everybody, even family. I've put myself back in the weapons safe and locked it from the outside. I am locked in here, alone. I am broken. I don't trust anybody, and it seems like I just can't get along with anybody. I don't want to hurt anyone, but I just can't get along with anyone. I see it like this. If you lease a vehicle or you rent a car, you have insurance to pay for that vehicle. If it is damaged. If you don't have the insurance and the vehicle's damaged, you still have to pay for the vehicle and fix it back to new. Well, you're never gonna get me back to new. I've had two heart surgeries. I have multiple other injuries. My brain is broken, thanks to one of them. My heart is absolutely destroyed by another. My soul is gone from another. It has been ripped apart. I will never get back my life. I will never give back my innocence. I will never give back my honor or my pride. I died, and they lived. That's how it should have been. I'm sure they would have lived their lives much better than I have. How do you get rid of survivors guilt? You don't. You just act like it's not there and go about your merry way and live the lie. I can't lie to myself. I'm completely f***ed. How about you just give me a million dollars for all the years that I have suffered, and we will call it a day. You can keep your terrible healthcare. I'll go somewhere else for my next open heart surgery. I'll take the $23 million and live the rest of my few years alive in happiness. At least then, maybe i can afford a big enough distraction so i can die with a smile and some dignity.. Instead of suffering, constantly every doggone day, trying to think of a reason to get out of bed. Holding back that fear so I can go to the goddamn grocery store. Trying, my heardest, not to look like a freak because i'm constantly looking around at everyone because I don't trust anyone. F🤬 other country's bullshit wars, man, give Americans the money. Especially those of us who have so little life left. I don't know how many years I have left. I know it's limited. I can feel it. I felt it when I needed my first heart surgery. I didn't know what it was, but I felt it.I knew something wasn't right. I've been giving that same feeling again. Hopefully, it's not another stroke. Or another heart attack. the VA is not the problem. the problem lies with the crooked VBA and their habitual denial of disability claims. and the usage of developing to deny benefits.

My VA neurologist just refilled my meds. He did it the same day I sent a secure message online. VA provides much better service than civilian docs.

We have cut down a rainforest to write words on fancy pieces of paper and we're in worse shape today than ever.
