I remember my older brother coming home saying he bought a CD at a club they went to the previous night. It was of a really cool band that played that night, I sat listening with him, I was only 12 (so no clubbing for me), everything my brother did was cool, he shared all his cool stuff with me. The CD had a pink cover if my memory does not fail me and the band was called, "tri funk era", again if memory serves me right. Not long after they changed to Just Jinger and we bought the first CD and shallow waters was on there, but the beat to the song had changed slightly and I remember we compared the CD's and it took some time to get use to the new version, but we LOVED every single song and the band. I got to see them at Transvalia Highschool, paid R25 for the ticket which seemed exorbitant for me as a teen, but well worth every cent. Wish I still had a copy of the "tri funk era" CD. Such a core memory for me. I was devasted (as teenagers are over pretty much everything) when the band lost 2 of the original members. I can't express enough gratidute for this upload and to see the name Verny.. the original 4 had a different soul.

Thank you YT recommendations for getting it right for once. What a trip. Memories all over the place. Thanks Verny. You original 4 were something else entirely. I don't wanna say it, but you know what I mean. Still got my copies of All Comes Round and Something For Now ... bought at Musica with my sakgeld plus a bit of gatkruip when I was 12 to 13, late nineties. This vid reminded me just how important those tunes are to this day. I ended up opening for Ard, Brent and Denholm at Fancourt many years later. It was a disaster. Ard hated me and my out of tune guitar, but Brent was a real one. Of course, just a day or two later, The Anthem happened. 😂 We ended up kuiering once or twice at their live shows on the Garden Route. Damn time and its flying tendencies.
