Best upgrades by far are severed limbs finisher and the flying knee. After that you want the dash attack after pistol counter. From there just go for the extra grenades and stimpacks. Trust me on the running knee. It opens the game up, and barring pretty much the end boss, allows you to barely have to interact with the parry system. Even on japanese hard, you can very literally run straight at most enemies, and flying knee them. This will cause them to roll back and be stunned long enough for you to light them up with point blank headshots. Theres a cancelling mechanic where you can dodge or block after most attacks, and it even works directly after the flying knee. So basically, you flying knee>block>ads>shoot at face. Works on every enemy except bosses and heavy gunners (who you can just dodge backwards after they block an attack, you dont have to parry them either). White ninjas might block or not do the roll animation enemies do after being kneed, but dont react fast enough for you to not be able to just knee them again until they do roll. When they do roll, you light em up. Guns are super powerful in this game in combination with melee, not isolated from it.

There is a reason why it’s better to go for a perfect parry. Sometimes if you regular parry an enemy, they’ll immediately swing at you again. This can happen for up to 3 times and the damage done to the knife will seriously rack up.

2:03 i just noticed that if you parry like crazy the attacks inside the circle around him, you can make a lot of damage, it is helpful I guess, I haven’t beaten him yet though.

What could have made this parry system more balanced is that perfectly executed parries shouldn't do any damage to the knife's health bar as well as reward the player with an opportunity to do a melee or a takedown, whereas normally executed parries do not reward you an opportunity to do a follow up melee, and will inflict damage to the knife's healh.

I was struggling with that crap so I wanna help. As soon as u have blocked the waves and shot down the cones when u can press L3+R3 then most of the time, you can beat it in the first try .
