KATSEYE (pronounced how it’s spelled btw so CAT’S EYE) is a six-member GLOBAL girl group under HYBE and Geffen Records. The group was made in collaboration with HYBE x Geffen Records for the survival show “The Debut: Dream Academy“ that aired on RUclips last year from September-November. Their fandom name is EYEKON (Icon but spelled with EYE and K for con since both represent their group name KATSEYE and being ICONIC as a whole). BTW, their name comes from the CAT'S -EYE gemstone but their group name can also be referred to as something as keen as a cat's eye which is why both representations work for their group name but just with a "K". They officially released their EP August 16th titled "SIS (Soft Is Strong)."! In total they have 5 MVS…3 of their side-track MVS are also called their lyric films but they do feature them singing along w/ their lyrics for their songs "My Way" "Tonight I Might" and "I'm Pretty" which were the rest of the released EP songs. Pls check out their songs/mvs "MY WAY", "I'M PRETTY", & "TONIGHT I MIGHT" next! Also, their debut song is titled “Debut” YALL can tap into that as well but a lot of ppl dint really care for that song lol. KATSEYE were recently on an Asian tour promoting , they were in Korea and went on popular Korean music shows there, they went to the Philippines had a lot of success there and also went to Japan. They RECENTLY released a theme song for an upcoming Netflix animation series “Jentry Chau vs The Underworld” coming in December. Additionally, they just performed at the MAMA AWARDS LA and had one of the greatest shows of MAMA this year. Currently and soon they’ll be preparing for their end of the year schedule performances for the Jingle Bell Ball in December ! Furthermore, the 6 members of KATSEYE are Manon, Lara, Sophia, Yoonchae, Megan, and Daniela. They were the winning finalists of the survival show competition called “The Debut: Dream Academy” as mentioned prior. It was a very strenuous process and the show dealt with 20 contestants bottling down to the final 6. Originally, it went from 120K auditions - 20 contestants - 6 final members in that order. They had 3 missions including one FINAL mission that was part of the live finale which helped determine the final members and a lot of it was based on performance, vocals, and viewers’ participation in LIVE VOTING. So the final 6 girls you see here were chosen based on high rankings for all of those things including the judges’ rankings and public opinions. Yall should (on your own times or here) check out their NETFLIX DOCU-SERIES as it is based on their whole Dream Academy (their survival show) experience. The purpose of KATSEYE was to introduce a more unseen diverse and cultural perspective from OTHER ethnic povs and standpoints of the world which is why a lot of people gravitated to the group’s purpose because many audience minorities found that many of the contestants looked like THEM and were from countries that are easily misrepresented and shadowed over in the media. That’s why one of the members, Lara made it so clear that she was fighting for her brown people and brown girls mainly because more brown people representation is NEEDED and it’s true. This global group experiment was DIFFERENT and being under KPOP MANAGEMENT at that. Even Manon and Lara being there the FIRST EVER BLACK and BROWN idols under HYBE (a notable KPOP company) and one of the very few associated with a famous k-pop label is big. Then Sophia being the first ever Filipina HYBE idol…amazing! KATSEYE is not a kpop group but managed under a kpop company as well as an American company which is GEFFEN and not even just that but more than half of the members in KATSEYE represent more than one nationality and /or ethnicity, while also being multi-lingual, so that really left a lot more of us in awe. just a fyi most kpop stans and even some stans of hybe groups hate to admit it or will pull up every excuse to deny it. but hybe groups have A LOT of creative freedom compared to the other labels in kpop so a lot of the music is connected to the idols themselves whether it be their writing/composing/producing or them telling the writers and producers their stories or ideas or relating to lyrics on a deep level after discussions with writers so even if the song isnt their creation it feels very authentic similarly to american pop stars who dont write we believe them when they sing cause they relate somehow to the songs.

Charlie Puth gave BabyMonster the song called "Like That" because of Ahyeon's Dangerously cover that went super viral everywhere. Since that she has been the most popular member and the most impactful. She slays! All of them slay!
