I am a working CG generalist working in digital/interactive advertising and want to share tips and tricks I have picked up along the way to navigate the world of "Gotchas," so other artists can avoid some unnecessary time troubleshooting and get back to doing art.
Zbrush ZColor Picker! Be More Good!
TLDW:
1)Open Zplugin : ZColor
2)LMB on color pallete and drag anywhere on your screen (PurRef) and it will sample the color directly under your mouse.
3) Hit "Set Color"
4) Paint away!
I really like working with PurRef for organizing my reference images for an entire project. I don't think Zbrush's default way of sampling colors is helpful when it can't sample outside of the UI and loading a bunch of different images to sample colors is a pain...

Thanks for the video! TLDW: 6:50 A bit annoying how basic color picking isn't a feature yet in Zbrush.
you really save me a lot of time on a project thx a lot, that kind of video will forever be a main reason why i love internet and 3d thx
thank u so much for removing my hassle
What a brillian video. Thank you very much. It was a pain trying to understand spotlight. Kudos
Voice too low
Doesn't work for me. When I try to pick a color it just picks gray values which I am assuming is my actual zbrush screen. It is behaving as if pureref isn't even there.
How are you making the color wheel larger when you go over it?
really helpful but kinda too much fast talking
