Easier overall. This version has a menu that lets you adjust your life count higher, so there's more room for error. Both versions are probably equally difficult at the highest level since dying pointlessly wastes time and they end up using the same route in the end. Gameplay is identical between the versions, so it's just the extra lives.

@ltdzinger Are you trying to hit A and B at the same time? If so, you need to hit A THEN B; A+B doesn't do anything except probably normal attack.

@Estryark I just saw your other comment as well. The timing is really tight for that kill. I use a music cue to time my first attack. You need to slightly delay the B press of the special attack, if you swing too fast you'll get hit, but with the right timing your invincibility frames will go through his attack. Something I usually recommend is to attack him like he's one of the helicopters from the skating level. If you press A then B too fast on the copters you'll be too low and whiff. But if you delay the B press you have a bit more height and hit them. It mostly takes a lot of practice. It's the hardest boss strategy in the game to pull off perfectly so don't sweat it too much.

@@Omqwat I thought so, I started using music cue from this video to help me but after a grind session of this boss I could only land 4 hits in a row. I am not able to tell which presses (jump or attack) is too early or too late. Anyway good stuff, liked.

I think the environment made a surprisingly nice setting to do runs. I was tucked away enough to focus but the noise helped keep me from overthinking. The booze and pizza smell also helped.

Nice! I didn't know anyone else had speedrun the demo. Very cool you did the modern version. Had no idea that the levels were smaller in 8 bit since that was the only version I played. I'm interested to see how the coins affect the route once the full game drops.

Still is wr to me, podium consist of 3 competitors. Congrats all on some great times grinding this Leo out.

My run has a lot of slop in it. Lost huge chunks of time everywhere. 9 seconds in Ocean, 9 seconds in New York, 15 seconds in Sewer, 9 seconds in Roof. I'm not sure what my best Sewer is with Leo, maybe 143 or 144. 145 would be fast. My sum of best is 36:17 but I don't know how strong some of them are. I didn't really practice or try to find strats with Leo, just did runs and tried not to die.
