A change from the DSLR for the HNC’s. Here is your introduction to a proper HDV Camcorder. Learning the basics of this camera will do you in good stead for the equipment you could be using during your HND year so I recommend to book this one out and get families to this sort of layout along with your DSLR’s.

nope... not a good presentation at all. His english accent is very hard to understand. His setup is abysmal with poor lighting and not very good audio. His presentation is half-baked and not well planned or well thought out. He went into this presentation blind. He was unscripted, did NOT rehearse or practice what he wanted to say in his presentation. Also, and not to put too fine a point on these, he misidentified the camcorder and was not familiar with the layout of the keys, buttons, input and the interface ports. I mostly quit watching after hearing him give the wrong information about the camcorder and the model number. That, and the primary reason and fact is, this unit is outmoded and outdated. This particular model "Panasonic HC-X1" is no longer being made, so this information is out of date anyway. I watched the first 20 seconds then shut it off. Not coming back to see the rest of this. There's no need.

I have the HCX1000 which was my first video camera and only camera ,and it’s amazing and easy to use ,,once you have the know how ,I went straight into manual mode and learnt from there with a little help from RUclipsrs ,and never used auto but I believe auto mode is very good.,,anyone thinking of buying one of these cameras in 2024 and they want a camera what does everything ,this is the one.
Can you use it to take still photos as well as video?
@@kevin-roussos I have never taken stills on this camera ,im not sure if you can , im new to video making and this camera has much more than I could imagine being a beginner, I went in at the deep end buying a professional camera as my first camera without any knowledge on cameras, I keep finding more and more features in the pro mode every time I use it and I don’t regret learning the pro mode rather than auto even thou it’s cracked me up a few times, it is an amazing camera once you get to know the basics and the videos it produces are amazing .

@@kevin-roussos as long as it’s XLR yess,,.and condenser..most people go for RODE mics and I have one, I bought it because everyone else seemed to use them but I don’t rate them and I don’t use it that often. And iv been experimenting with condenser mics over the past month or so through a sound mixer then into the camera with a XLR cable and the sound is amazing. But I would advise that if your buying a mic make sure it’s one you want and not because the crowds got one ,Some mics sound terrible to me but I did use to be a sound engineer and im very fussy when it comes to sound .
In modern age we are remove caset recording and instal s.d card system for recording data This change is possible...????

Sony HV-DR60, si no lo escribo mal. Supongo que ya habrá otros modelos. También están los de la marca "Atomos", válidos para cualquier camcorder o invento. Pero te van a sangrar. Baratos, no son. Un invento medio interesante puede ser grabar en una capturadora de juegos, y usar cualquier cámara antigua incluso, con convertidores de señal. En Aliexpress encuentras BFollow, que con una app, te permite grabar desde HDMI a un Android. Te sale por unos 25 €. Nada de 500, 800 o 1000. Algo ortopédico, pero funciona.
Como ejemplo o curiosidad, busca aquí "Atomos MS-4" o algo así. Pruebas extremas: una cam del 93 grabando en HD por HDMI.

Which model external recorder do you use? Please write the model.
If you record to tape on that turd and then get rid of the camera before transferring the footage, then god help you. NO ONE will have the unearthly powers it takes to break that codec. Fair warning!
It will read the standard MiniDV codec from other cameras though, right?

Unfortunately he camera has now been returned to the college and I can’t remember the exact lens I used on this video, however if you have a specific lens you want to work for the new E-mounts then I’m sure there would be a way via adapters/conversions!

Ahh agreed! Haha but working from home with a single non-variable LED makes for some difficult lighting potential! I will try to keep improving the quality of these videos once I can get back to my campus!
