Engine room is so different now compare 1970 even the engine start and stop before use to be dead slow slow hafl full now only number
I love this especially I was in the Navy of course long time ago on two destroyers operating a 1200 PSI steam plant underway, but here i love the size and the room of the engine space of very large engine to move such a large ship and the control room and maintenance shop this is sweet.
Wat a beautiful noise coming from the engine room !!!
Brilliant 2 say the least of it!!!

Main Engine is 72,520 KW and the diesel generator 4,000 kw each.
Awesome video. I'll always be amazed how quiet big marine diesels run considering their size.
wonder if the big engine even needs an air filter? Probably just a screen as it takes in so much air?
MAKES GO ZOOM ZOOM!!!
Female or male?
That was rral sound of engine..... Mitsubishi Sulzer, and russian Bulmaster
How many hours of operation can be had, before these engines need a full overhaul or replacement? I suppose maintenance is key, much like anything, but i also know that wear and tear can never be completely eliminated.
80,000+
The scale of the industrial offshore world never fails to blow my mind! The workshop at the start is a big as an onshore engineering firm ! Captions would be nice, so the less experienced know what we are looking at. E.G That engine looked like it had 12 ! pistons ?
Yes exactly 12 cylinders. thank you for watching
Fantastic, steady camera work, full glorious sound, a comprehensive tour - what more could we ask for? This was a joy to watch. Thank you for your time and effort, sir.
Your welcome sir.
4:05 Wait??? That's like old-school ship controls! Better get your sea-legs for this voyage!
Thanks for watching.
@@khingsjourney Arh! You're welcome matey!
I wondered why so much electricity needs to be generated until I saw how many systems used motors just to maintain the main engine. Thanks
Your welcome
Have fun😋

Thank You for this great video. I feel like I'm exploring there myself
your welcome.
Quand on pense que cette cathédrale mécanique tourne 24/24 pendant des semaines. Impressionnant.
La nave é il paradiso del tecnico, trovi ogni tipo di macchina. Fantastico😊😊😊
Piston 98 cm in diameter?
We leave in 40 minutes. Find a spot to lay down with a super fluffy blanket and pillow. We’re dimming the lights. 4 day trip. Where are you going to sleep ? 💤
I will upload on my next video.
I love videos like this. Reminds me of being at sea. I just feel like Im home around this type of atmosphere.
This engine and this sound are amazing😊😊😊
Merci pour votre vidéo et votre tournée de grande qualité technique et pédagogique
how to apply
How many engineers to run this 24/7 ? 20?
2 engineers at most every 4 hours per duty
Only 4 engineers, 1 electrician, 1 fitter and 2 oilers.
Respect for your patience love this vedio love your job thank you for sharing
Hot antifreeze runs through the ship's giant radiator.
cool
Hi, thanks for the video. I have a question about the arrangement of engine room ventilation inlet and outlet. Are all of the ducts in the 10th minute of video inlet ducts, and where are the ventilation outlet ducts placed in the engine room? ruclips.net/video/aGi46rpmGr4/видео.html
its a exhaust gas manifold.
I have been to hell. Even with all the screens the cries the torture and constant flow from the lake of fire, Hell is quieter than this engine room

You would not if you were standing next to them without Hearing protection.
I love the synchronous noise of the engines, I could sleep to the muted undulating sounds (not right next to it of course), Im a mechanic and love engines.
what MSC ship is this
Very good video thank you
Looks scary. Fincantieri built?
Given the TEU, it's either a Danit-class built by Daewoo or a Benedetta-class built by Hyundai, both in South Korea. Edit - just checked. The GRT makes it a first series Davit-class, of which there are five ships.
That’s insane
What were those two small engines used for
Its a Generator engine.
anung oras po ang lastrip airport to dao pag gabi.
Wow, my dream is to be a seafare and I hope one day, yes,
Nice that you have a bed in the control room. Sleeping while working = win 👌
It is what is termed a UMS ship, ie unmanned Engine room. It is manned during the day by the engineers carrying out maintenance work. During none working hours there is a duty engineer. He has an alarm panel in his cabin. If an alarm goes off he has a certain amount of time to get to the control room and cancel it. Sometimes its just easier to stay there if there are a lot of frequent alarms going off.
