The final evolution of this 'le random funni background music' was the Alabama Beach Mouse 'song' loop for the act 1 run, although for that one I can say I actually enjoy it lol The same can't be said about this one... 😬

​@@Phyoiddoh, cool! Thanks for the reply. This was a super fun run to watch. How many points in the run are there branches where there is more than one OK outcome? Like, you're hoping for card X, but the game gives you another card Y that isn't an automatic reset?

​@@SeanCMonahan 3:25 is the main auto reset point for this category as you need the campfire to be attack power plus you need it to be buffed twice (card can die on the 2nd buff = reset) to be able to beat the Prospector quickly and get through the Too Fast Too Soon bosses later. Biggest single branch/reset point after 3:25 is for items as you are really only looking for one item before a boss, only one good outcome. You need to get at least one scissor from a backpack space (Multiple scissors are preferred for safety for any times where you don't draw a 5 power card for the Too Fast Too Soon boss. Even if you do draw the 5 power, having multiple means you can save the extra scissor for the next boss). Scissors are required to even finish a run as you need them to create an open space to attack during the Too Fast Too Soon boss fights, other methods (hourglass item) take longer and are not good for speed but are there if desperate. There is one single branch if you don't get scissors though and that is getting a mantis with touch of death sigil, however you'd still need to draw both this card and a 5 power card if you manage to get it but it does means that if you don't get any scissors for the boss you might not have to reset. Strat to get scissors is to to go to every backpack space you see until you can get them and if not, reset. After the 3:25 point for cards it's mainly choosing any cards that can lead you to a one turn kill, with preference of a 5 power card over bifurcated 3 power card as a 5 power requires only 1 scissors for the boss, so alot of different ok branches you can go down. Here are a few I can think of: A single campfire buffed grizzly/great white + black goat item/card, getting then putting a magpie's sigil on a black goat to find the 5 attack wolf in your deck if you don't draw it, Child 13 with any 3 power card, mantis combined onto any 3+ power card or a mantis buffed by an attack campfire twice (or any 3 power card buffed twice),There are alot of different ways to achieve a one turn kill so can go down different branches card wise. Also on cards getting a card with touch of death before the final moon fight is another must as it saves so much time in the fight as it one shots the moon, so if you are trying for a very good time this is another must, if you don't get it by the final boss it's an auto reset. If you are wanting the perfect run another auto reset point would be 2:57 as here you can get different variations to this fight where the enemy cards spawn in different locations, locations where they do not defeat you in one turn losing time. So if you are looking for a perfect run here would be another point where you'd auto reset if the cards are not perfectly set up (the same positions as in this run) to defeat you in one turn. If your goal is a good run though, resetting here would not be needed. Final branch/reset point is the final boss fight. As mentioned prior not getting a touch of death card for the moon would be an auto reset if you want a good time. You still have to draw this card during the final boss though, which can be guaranteed if you get the magpie boon (I do at 11:21) as this means after a turn you can choose the exact card you want to draw (you also have to draw one of your 5 power or 3 power bifurcated cards too so the boon will also help with that). It is still possible and actually better for time if you don't get the boon (saves a few seconds) however it means your run is at the mercy of RNG as you need to draw the both cards before the boss and have no way to influence it. I'd say then the main part where multiple outcomes are OK are with card choices as you can achieve the goal in multiple different ways with cards whilst with everything else there is really only a single tangible outcome. Card choices do make up alot of the run so even though it is just one part of a run, I would think the split between multiple and single branches/outcomes would be around 65/35 to 70/30 (65/70% Single / 35/30% multiple)

To guarantee you draw the Black Goat infused with the Magpie sigil for the final boss, you need it to be the only 1-cost card in your deck, yeah? Is there always an opportunity to get rid of the Stoat, like a second altar? It would stink to get RNG'd on the final boss if you don't draw your touch-of-death (and don't have a scry card as a backup).

@@SeanCMonahan Yeah, if you are using a Fair Hand mechanic deck you would need the black goat to be the only 1/0 cost card in your deck for it to be 100% drawn in the first hand. As for getting rid of the stoat the only way in moon% to kill it is by buffing it twice at a campfire and hoping it dies on the 2nd buff. (If it doesn't die after two buffs on an attack power campfire might as well try get bifurcated sigil on it for another one turn kill card in the deck). For the final boss if you do draw the stoat instead of the goat bc you didn't manage to kill the stoat off you can do what I do at 12:30 where I play the stoat to block the mole to buy me an extra turn (blocks mantis god from attacking you) to scry/search for your strong card using the magpie boon (This does rely on you getting the magpie boon though, if not then it's RNG on if you draw it next card. Also this method would then need you to have scissors to get rid of the mole once you place the strong card you scryed for incase you don't have a death touch in you starting hand).The boon really removes the RNG in the final fight at the cost of a couple seconds. For the fair hand mechanic, where you always draw a 1/0cost card so manipulate it so only one is in your deck therefore draw it every fight, personally I don't like the black goat/magpie combo just because the extra second of animation for searching for your strong card every fight adds to the time, I find it quicker to just use other strats instead. Realistically though I think it's fine to use and is probably still viable to WR with, just a perfect run would not include it due to the few extra seconds it consumes.

RNG Manipulation. There is a 'fair hand' mechanic which means the game will try to give you at least one card you can play 1st turn, in act 2 this does not includes squirrel-like cards. So for act 2 if you fill your deck with only squirrel-like cards you will always draw any card with a blood cost (not sure about how it works with bone/energy/mox cost cards), in this case ouroboros.

There was a glitch that allows you to play cards mid turn (after ringing the bell). Here I played the sparrow card before the wolf's attack animation had a chance to finish/even start making it look like the sacrifice itself does damage

This run actually got featured on the Devs React to Speedrun on IGN which is alot of recognition in my eyes, but I get the sentiment about it being rather niche in terms of runner size, I feel like people don't really think card games are fun to run but the few who do enjoy it know how good it can be. There is a nice guide on speedrun dot com for act 1 which applies to moon% too. The guide called "ACT 1 SPEEDRUN GUIDE, TIPS AND GLITCHES" The only real difference between act 1 & moon% is beating the bears (and no totem), but all you need for that is a 5 pwr card or bifurcated + another card with the scissors to cut one of the bears. Instead of the blood totem you should use items to play your one turn kill cards.

also, at 2:57 you managed to have a sparrow on last row... I never saw this. I trusted the sparrow was scrypted to go in the tree, not face! I never saw this in any run by memory, but once again maybe it did happened. Is this happening a lot?

@@kensensyl908 Sound Wise: I play the game muted musically, so I just felt like having so music rather than silence, so chose another part of the game's soundtrack, I do different music for every run or do it with no music, as for the sound it is still ok, only the music is affected. 2nd: Rule Book pre-moon entry: In complete honesty, I don't know, I just spam things at that point (W key) so if it looked like I did something it was accidental and I think there is no time save there and it is a pure visual thing, I do this in other moon% runs on my channel. It may be patched in current versions? Other than that all I do I spam W once I have clicked on the boss. 3rd: I did ALOT of runs, in terms of number I don't know, maybe 300+ or more? alot died to not getting the 5 Power wolf on 1st map as I'd just reset if it's health, and yeah, it's quite an RNG heavy game. If you want to look at some previous runs and see how the items and card drops look (I remember one run had no adder) they are all still up and available to watch. 4th: I am pretty satisfied with the run, as for the glitch being patched (not banned) there are ways to down-patch the game which I and some other runners have done to be able to use it again. If you would like to know how to downpatch I can put everything you need to know in a reply if you would like. Bonus 5th: The sparrow on the last row is complete RNG, it seems rarer than it appearing in front of a tree but it does happen. For me, this is another reset point, if it doesn't spawn there (in front of empty space) then I reset until it does. Anyway thanks for your questions I am more than happy to answer any more you have :D

@@Phyoidd all right thanks for the tips! well, I'm still new to try speedruns (I love watching them and TAS tho) and all your explainations makes sense! (btw thanks too for time you take to respond to me and everyone here!). 300+ runs seems legit to get such perfection and I truly didn't knew for the sparrow, i need to focus on that when i train in order to fetch for a strong run. For now, I'm much more interested into any% but your run contain a lot of useful lessons for the rest of the game (I saw 3rd fastest run using bears "blood waterfall" strategy but I was already convincted that biffurcation one was better to outrun the grizzly rush). I'm very interest to keep you in touch, I will DM you for sure if I need advices someday ;D
