    I would say nobody need art school or course to be good artis but his art school is helping me a lot and I neve went that much into image manupilation true photoshop etc. only drawing so I learned a lot about manupilation of images true photoshop wille yeah I will problebly not use image manupilation for most of my drawing it can help as just adding small deatials, he covers a lot of stuff which is great for beginers and intimided lerners of digital art. wille some argue he could put more ataonomy etc. his courses is marked as basic to advance basic skill if you looking for atonomy only course there are other that go deeper like proko but yeah mark art school 4 out of 5 must buy if you can, don't starve yourself just to buy a cours.

      I agree! His courses on body anatomy are phenomenal in my opinion. I’ll probably be doing an updated version of this review sometime soon. But I still really love this course and Marc as a teacher.

      @@MangaMikeLee the only real complant I have about his program is the photoshop (Only appers in term 1) wille it is usefull if your not most people buy a corse to learn to draw so he would need to put som much into photoshop specely when programs like clip studio don't have enogue resorces to edit photos. I is a nice tuch to get used to tolls in the software that you will use but if you came to learn to draw, photo eddeting is not most importatn but some excersise like maching collor and images whit level, hue, color balanc is nice excersies to get used to difrent collor thones and observing images. To me personely he just spends to much time on photoshop in term 1 it could be cut in 1 week but he did say you could do whatever you want. so yeah my only complaint is photoshop could be cut into 1 week rather then put in 2 weeks.

    Its okay when you grow fast. Not when you grow in the pace of a snail. I have heard horror stories of people that cant draw even after 20 years of consistant drawing. its fuckin scary man. I am 30 and i have only been drawing for half a year. I am in a race with father time here and he is wining this weather i like it or not and i dont have the luxury to take it slow and be "patiant" with myself. Ps sry for the horrible grammer.

    Hi, very nice video! I was just wandering is it an app or a website you are using to get you references? I just can't find this "GestureDrawing!" tool of yours :/ Is it generated or do you have your own human references and use them for drawing?

    • @MangaMikeLee

      Thank you! If you go to cubebrush’s website the app is there for purchase. The way that it works is you just gather a folder with the references that you want/need and the app will cycle through that folder for you on a timer of your choosing.

    Do you have any advice on how to decide if your ideas work for one shots? I constantly create ideas that are longer series. I want to get into one shots. How do you come up or know if your ideas are one shot material?

    • @MangaMikeLee
      @MangaMikeLee 4 месяца назад

      Before I give the advice I would say don’t worry so much about being a one shot creator if that’s not what your story telling style is. There’s of course advantages if doing one shots, but you don’t want to force a square peg into a round hole so to speak. That will just stunt your creativity. So the real question would be what’s telling you to do one shots instead of maybe a longer story? Actual advice I would give would be to create a story then see which pieces are necessary and which ones are not. Do you need every conflict for the story to make sense or can it be condensed. Typically we think we need to explain more to the readers than we actually do. The other advice I would give which I believe is in this video is limit the amount of characters you and and limit the scope of the story as well. Instead of 5 character try 2 or 3, instead of the whole city being at risk maybe it’s just one building or a floor within the building. Limiting those pieces will help you write smaller scale stories. The other important thing is one shots can be wrapped up in a maximum of about 30 pages illustrated (of course there are some that are longer but just work with me here lol), if you’ve written for 30 illustrated pages and you feel like there’s just a lot missing then it’s not a good one shot. It needs to feel complete. Hope that helps!
