I think Borteleto is very solid and definitely the best Brazilian F2 has seen. I think Arons season is just insane tho, with no bad luck really. I can see him getting a seat in a year or two!

@@harrisonturpitt Wasn't he dropped from a program recently though? I want to say it was Mercedes but I can't remember...also to the OP I think Hadjar without his bad luck from early season retirements would easily be currently walking this championship.

@@harrisonturpitt Nah, Prema is having a dismal season in terms of setups in general. Kimi & Ollie would be fighting for wins in a normal season. Now, they be fighting for a points spot.

@@shakmarriott4820 Prema is massively underperforming for some reason in F2 this year. Both Kimi & Ollie are nowhere in the standings when they would ideally be fighting for the F2 title. Thankfully, both of them will get a promotion in F1 next year.

I could see the Vesti option over button! I just thought it would be a bit of fun especially as his connection. I do have to disagree with you about Shwartzman, Eriksen has been great in indy car and also has that experience in F1 specifically with Sauber. He's experienced, and alongside Malomey you'd want someone who is experienced.

I don't think so. Aron would still be on top through consistency. Also considering this being haugers 3rd year he really can't be making those rookie errors.

@@harrisonturpitt i feel that any driver that does 3 seasons in f2 and still hasnt contended for a title ant some stage is clearly not quick enough. the best drivers drive for the best teams in f2 so a slow car is no excuse. thats why they change teams so much

If I was a betting man (and I am) he would be my odds on favourite. He has the experience and pace, it's just been bad luck that's not helped. Like the collision in Bahrain etc.

agreed. he lost out on over 40 points due to dnf's (based off the positions he was running in and the progress he was making during certain races especially the feature in jeddah). On top of that everyone knows that when you don't take the points your effectively gifting them to your rivals. Also what i found really interesting is that he has the highest average race finish position (2.8) and the highest average quali position (4.8) so yh i think he would be leading the championship by quite a bit maybe 10-15 points. But it must be said, this is all part of racing and other drivers are definitely gonna have their share of bad luck.

I know it's great! I think we'll have 3-4 drivers in the race by then still. The gaps aren't that big. There is like the first three then four to six. Then also some other guys who coukd have a good few weeks and get up there like Bearman and Martins

@@harrisonturpitt I think Marti, O'Sullivan and Crawford are drivers to look out for in the second half. All of them just need to get a clean weekend together they all have pace.

@@harrisonturpitt I thought the flashing lights in the tunnel before Hadjar encountered the stricken car were the yellow flags. Hats off to him for his lightning reactions but I thought he would have slowed down beforehand. I didn’t hear of any penalties though.

He's had a rough time that's for certain. I agree that he's made probably the most mistakes, I think Haas might be reluctant if he finishes the season like this especially with drivers like Bottas, Zhou, or Ricciardo likely to not have a seat.

He won two years ago and so is the reserve for Aston Martin!
