We so enjoyed the Graphi journey through Castlevania 64

World's tutorial length isn't that bad - you actually fight your first large monster faster than most games - it's the cutscenes! And the walking around not being able to do anything but listen to the characters scenes! There's something like 2 and a half hours of unskippable cutscenes in that game, and that's not including the "follow this NPC through this new region" gameplay. You can beat Rise village in the amount of time you're waiting (another testament to how fast these games have become.) Highly recommend cutscene skip mod for that base game. Iceborne monster reveals and the ending cutscenes are pretty cool. Love me some old MonHun!

You can avoid the fight. The chicken the lady gave you, don't eat it. You can give it to the wolf to distract him. I can't believe everyone online, including gamefaqs, says the fight us unavoidable. You can easily avoid him.

I mispelled "tomb" also a lot. There are words like loom, room, doom so from a technical perspective it would have to be written "toomb" to be spelled like it does. On the other hand you have words like comb, womb.....and then tomb. I like tomb raider 2, also the ship levels. The first one, the cargo section, yeah, that was a bit bland and boring. But then the machine deck, living quarters and upper deks where amazing. Sure, has to do with taste but eidos changed a lot after people asked after tomb raider 1 to get a bit more "real" levels with less mystic enemy creatures.

We have been so excited to see Professor Layton coming up in the timeline and it is finally hear!

I enjoyed watching these a lot, very interesting grim spooky decrepit game. It makes me think like a mix of Project Zomboid and Sanitarium. I am curious what happens on the musician route, might try playing it myself someday.

OH MY GOD the compass is on the table in the bar? Thank you so much for finding that :) also, yes, picking anything other than soldier as a class seems to make the game harder for first time players. I originally tried to play as engineer, but the combat is so hard, it makes more sense to use soldier for first playthru. 1:20:15 when the leader was telling you to go talk to Uncle Bob himself, he was standing inside the bar, he should have dropped a key where he was standing. That key opens the metal door behind the small bridge, that is an easier way to get to the Freeway, so you dont have to fight so many people

So, BB has killed the Killer and officially supplanted him as XX City’s icon of murder. I do think it would be interesting to see whether BB returns to the city or moves out. If she did go back, she'd probably be able to land a major media gig and take her place as an all-powerful murder-celebrity. But if she stays in the suburbs or leaves to the outside world, where everything is seemingly relatively normal... that would probably be better for everyone. She can move out of the hood and live a safer life, and let XX City keep their murderous mutant version of her if that's what they want so badly.

Love this little game... So moch dissonant stuff that manages to fit together in an easily digestible package! another good mini FPS I'd recommend is "episode enyo" which is basically a quake total conversion with really cool 90s anime cyberpunk biohorror graphics

also wanted to mention my friend was WR holder on the speedrun, and you almost hit one of the skips in greece.

graphi, my partner and i have watched your shenmue 1 + 2 playthrough every xmas season ever since we caught it live halfway through ... it brings us so much joy ... we reference so many jokes from these vods all the time. thank u for being an entertaining streamer, one of the best to ever do it

This game was....let´s call it special. First, it was a really, really buggy mess that partially got you full stuck so you had to repeat complete sections over and over again (no idea if that ever got fixed, so don´t wonder if not). On the second it was impressive for it´s time. The mixture out of voxels and polygon models was pretty astonishing and gave a pretty good feeling how a (limited) open world would feel in future gaming. Sure, close up it looked like shit but with a little distance the terrain looked so organic and was amazing to watch.

Finally you got to play it. Yes, the "Bosso Nova" elevator music is legend and they even kept it in the remake. As the game came out 1994 where we still where using dos it had the nickname "operating system" as the interface was so extensive for it´s time that most players had problems keeping up with all the shortcuts and interface options xD If you maybe play the remake after that - the interface got a big overhaul and feels a lot more comfortable. I like both versions, the classic one for it´s innovations as well as the 2023 version as it´s just more comfortable and the fighting got massively improved - and they stayed pretty close to the original level design. In the classic version the combat was so sluggish - oh boy. One of the most common soundcards was either the soundblaster 16 or soundblaster awe 32 for that year if you want to hear it "original" stuff like roland or adlib where mostly too expensive and cause of that rare for the early gamers. LBP btw. is an imagined damage type and stands for "lord british pen***s" - Marc LeBlanc (one of the original system shock developers) got a let´s play of the remake on his channel and ...well, gave that funny information at some point. The incubators, once switched, are your respawn points. Else you would get confronted with the conversion endgame animation again.

I watched all these Dreadouts. Such nifty games! I like that many of the ghosts are based on Indonesian folklore and urban legends and stuff. I want to learn about Indonesia, I know practically nothing.

I had both Vinnie's Tomb games as a kid. Was just talking about how insane they both were. I too got them on some compilation demo disk thing.
