I can tell you what's my approach when writing or arranging a song using chord-melody and hopefully it will help you :) So basically, there's 2 main approaches that I use: 1- Starting from the melody. Let's say that you already have an idea of a melody or you already know the melody of a song that you are going to be working with. Assuming that you know basic theory and that you know the key of the song you are working on, the next step would be to harmonize the melody if it is an original melody or, in the case of an arrangement, reharmonizing, using the already existing harmony or expanding the harmony. In this part of the process you can go as simple or as complex as you want. What do I mean by that? well, you could do a very simple harmonic rhythm in which you can have one chord every bar or you can go as far as to build a chord out fo literally every note of your melody. Once you have defined the harmony you are gonna be using, here is where you can start exploring and having fun with the interaction of the notes of your melody and the ones that are part of your chords. The best approach for this, at least when you are starting, is to start playing just the bass note on top of the melody and sustain it for the whole bar. This is actually the technique during the whole lvl 7, if you watch carefully, youll notice that I'm just holding a bass note on top of the melody for every bar. 2- starting from the harmony. The approach is similar but you are going to start with the harmony, in this case the first step would be to create a chord progression, once you have it try doing the same thing, play only the bass note and try creating a melody using the notes that conform the chords you are using and some diatonic passing notes to conect the chord tones and to transition from one chord to another. Yep, either Ernie Ball regular Slinky 10-46 or D'Addario 10-46 I use both depending which one I find cheaper haha

this is the regular black burst, the translucent tend to be a bit thinner, which might look cool with some finishes, but makes it more subtle. I like the regular black burst edge better. I love it man! One of the most comfortable guitars I've played, probably my favorite 6 string guitar I have.

It might be hard to see, since I don't have fret inlays haha but in those very exact fragments you mentioned as examples of my pinky being away while not in use, it is actually being used xD I'm playing the harmonics on the 12th fret with my pinky on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd string, while playing the bass on fret 8th on the 6th string with my index. Thanks for the feedback, tho. I'll take it into consideration :)

@@ByronMenace oh you're right about the harmonics, I couldn't see well. But also I mean the fast lick sections right after the harmonics. The timestamps are about half a second before the section I'm talking about. The stationary harmonics are fine, yes
