Well, when my son and I first started going they had the fast and noisy jets, like the Tornado and better still the Harrier.. but the latter will never be seen again for obvious reasons, even though I can't see why they can display the Tonka still.. :) At least the display on the Friday made up for any shortcomings the day before.. Just wish they'd get the Red Arrows both days as well, like they used to.. I guess money is short for the sponsors these days.. :P

Its missing the big jets really. On day 2 I wandered on to Frinton front just to to catch the Lancaster fly past but thought we might catch a glimpse of the Arrows from a distance which we did, I think I enjoyed this rather impromptu display more :-) Maybe they should now concentrate on a much fuller 1 day display program

HI Basic, Yes I agree apart from the Vulcan it was a poor display, I was looking back to my previous posts 2004 2006 and it was much fuller program, remember when they used to have an hour break in the middle though ? I think the last 12 yrs or so have taken their toll on my enthusiasm a tad, I fell asleep on the beach this year waiting for something to happen and woke up with a headache lol.

You mean the Clacton 'No Show'?? No Lancaster, no Sea King... and only 2 seconds of Essex Air Ambulance.. but I guess the Vulcan made up for all the ones that didn't come!! That was a pure beauty in the air... and yesterday was a great day, much better than day 1.. :) Just wish the Vulcan had made an appearance again on day 2, but I guess we have to be grateful for what we got, eh?? :)

I actually like this video. experiment a sucess.

@miltonluvsno1 she did. And so low and so loud when 'buzzing' the airport, too. Not sure I appreciated the very low approach straight over my roof, but wow

Being nearly 20 yrs old now and ripped from an old VHS recording I am not sure but more than likely knowing me :-) probably seemed like a good idea at the time . On saying that there is commentary as well but I might have dubbed that as well. It is was it is unfortunately.

No, it's not my video.. and yes, this is the year when two P-51's landed for the first time since WWII, and a P-47 made a most welcome return also! It was supposed to have landed, on the especially extended runway, but the ground was too soggy after a summer of rain.. That particular P-47 now flies in the US and probably won't be seen in Europe again for a long long while.. :)

A truely awesome display from an awesome piece of engineering. Fortunate to have been there on that day as I am every year.

I was on the pier that day and I remember when the Vulcan flew over the pier actually shook! It was amazing.

It was a good day! As for being a long time ago lol For a young man like you 4 years is a quarter of your life, for a middle aged man like me it seems like only yesterday! :-) Take Care

Another nice day, this was the first Fly-in I went to.. I remember the superb Mustang display, and think I spotted myself in the crowd too.. ! ;) Got any footage from 2005?? :)

Beautiful footage... I had a nearly 10 minute video (posted on another channel) from the same Fly-In, but removed it, as I had some mistakes in it.. Then my computer crashed and I lost ALL my videos and pictures from the event.. :( Whaty a shame it turned out to be the last show, but they sure ended on a very high note.. It was 2 lovely days!! :)

Duxford was one of the best days of my life. Without Duxford and more we would all be speaking German. God bless them all Dez Sanderson

Yeah the windows are made tiny so's you don't get blinded by the flash from that nuclear weapon you just dropped and you can fly on and drop the next.

Any chabce of a copy not cut down of any footage of the Southend airshow any years reseaching the event and dont have much footage, lost everything I took in 2006 when the tape was destroyed.

I managed to get into the cockpit of the one at Southend Airport this year.. I agree tiny windows.

Never got to Biggin this year and I thought it was going to be there but I understand it didn't make it this year. Shame

i have quite a library just got to spend the time cutting the lengths down a bit
