Hello! Are u still active
Anyone who fights against light pollution, especially LED street lighting, gets my vote.
I'm 50 - my children of 12/16 have never seen the Milky Way. It's terrible.
Plus satellites and the massive amount of space waste, are creating light pollution.
And it is increasing with years.
Here's how people can help reduce light pollution: www.darksky.org/get-involved/ You can also find eco-friendly lighting here: www.darksky.org/our-work/lighting/lighting-for-industry/fsa/ There are also basic guides for what lighting is best for cities and residences, including outdoor lighting: www.darksky.org/our-work/lighting/lighting-for-citizens/lighting-basics/, as well as a page for just businesses: www.darksky.org/our-work/lighting/residentialbusiness-lighting/. Here is a page on how to identify if your community has a lighting ordinance, if it does, how to enforce it, and if it does not, how to advocate for it: www.darksky.org/our-work/lighting/public-policy/lighting-ordinances/. Here is a way to deal with light trespass and effects by the local government: www.darksky.org/our-work/lighting/lighting-for-citizens/bad-streetlights/ Here are some lighting guidelines and info for policymakers: www.darksky.org/our-work/lighting/public-policy/policy-makers/ And how to help the animals affected: ruclips.net/video/ooLYWwA43SE/видео.html Also a very interesting debunking on why increased street lighting doesn't actually decrease crime: www.darksky.org/light-pollution/lighting-crime-and-safety/ Here's a very interesting page on how much light energy is being wasted: www.darksky.org/light-pollution/energy-waste/ If you're a super sciency person, there's a database for scientific research specifically relating to artificial light here: alandb.darksky.org/ There are apps to help combat overturned circadian rhythms, meaning you can work at night but still not mess up your circadian rhythm: www.darksky.org/light-pollution/human-health/ Finally, these are places where you can visit near you that have good light stewardship (meaning you can actually see the sky): www.darksky.org/our-work/conservation/idsp/ If for an absurdly tiny possibility someone from the government read my comment, this link is how to get certified as a Dark Sky place: www.darksky.org/our-work/conservation/idsp/become-a-dark-sky-place/
Many people are afraid of crime and think they can prevent it by lighting their yard like Dodger's Stadium. And no, they don't care it it lights the sky or shines in their neighbor's windows. I'm not a fan of motion sensors. I have a neighbor that has a super bright flood light that comes on and burns the eyes of anyone that drives on the street near his property. I suspect that he believes that he's helping by lighting the street. And of course there's my favorite: the motion sensor that turns on a whole side of a building full of flood lights because the wind blows the branches on a tree.
No one has a right to light outside their property--- whether it is with a motion detector or not. Motion detector is not the problem. Poorly directed light -- causing light trespass is the problem. Excessive brightness and lumen levels is also the problem. Blue-rich white light is a problem-- amber is best or soft white with minimal blue spectrum is second best.
very nice
The first and the only effective solution is to cut down the number of lamps and populated areas. You did never heard such offensive atrocity in your life: you must drop your individual house and move into a block of flats in a densely populated city to be served by public transport instead your car. This eliminates not only global light pollution but allows to cut down other expenses (eg all the our oil goes to fuel your car and waste gasoline - do you like wasting?) down to sustainable level.
Typo. I meant you did excellent with the double ending.
I played this is 1990. Made a 1 haha. Man you have excellent stroke technique. Very relaxed and in control. Great flams and the excellent with double ending. Great job man!
They should send a walrus to Mars to study the theory of gravity and also do experiments to reduce light pollution.
Mad dog. You are amazing, I was going to kill myself before I watched this, but you have given me a reason to live again. Simply fucking beautiful.
I could listen to that release all day..
also see it as everything that is unnatural and above a biological max and for longer then a breve period will cause a destructive effect on something to a body or a bio-system
I don't think I heard more terrified screaming from a guy in a roller coaster POV video, so thanks, dude, for making this video so entertaining.
Dude thank I got the same presentation to do in two weeks. Now i have an Idea what to do.
Smooooooooth dude.
@DboyzFan Unless u have the flash pass (like me);)
Good Show, btw, I'm a Dark Sky Advocate:)
@eddiestardust lol, you must have just watched the 10:00 light pollution video by that female commentator.
if satan was to tech a line, this is what they would sound like
quad heads?
just got this piece about a week ago, the paradiddles, flam accents and the swiss armies are scramin fast, props to you for gettin that fast.
So to conclude, Light Pollution does cause problems. Use light at night sparingly, just to do a job and when you are finished turn the light off!
And Light Pollution doesn't just effect humans either. Ever see Moths on a summer night, attracted to the light? Sure you have. Birds have the same problem as the get confused by the lighted buildings that they crash into. Newborn Turtles that should be walking toward the ocean breakers at night (because they reflect light) turn instead to the shore that is heavily lit up. As more research is done I'm sure we will find even more disasterous effects
A recent study, during the past year, shows us that the light pollution that comes from major metro areas is bright enough to keep "cooking" emissions from cars etc that cause smog so even when the sun goes down, smog doesn't naturally get better but it gets worse.
What happens is that being "awake" during the night (when our bodies "know" we should be asleep cause a reduction in the formation of a hormone called Melatonin which fights disease agents like cancer. Thus an increase in cancer.
Oneshotrain, Annually, we spend billions of dollars lighting up the bellies of Birds, Clouds and Aircraft. This is wasteful. Why should we spend money to light the night sky when it is "lit up" already with the Universe above? Recent studies of nurses during overnight shift indicate an increase in the incidence of cancer: Breast Cancer in Women and Prostate Cancer in Men.
what is the name of the song at the beginning?
i dont get whats, so bad about light (light Pollution), im just 14 i dont get why light its soo, bad. People say oh its because too much light is realeased in the atmosphere, im like, " ok, Whats your point its just light" i need specific details. also if anybody knows the same thing for noise pollution, please tell me. thankyou.
