Hi Eri, i completely understand your frustration with job searching in HK. While im not in the same field as you, I'm also currently hunting for a new job. Many of the jobs require at least Cantonese and/or Mandarin as this is the local market. For non-chinese speakers teaching E glish is always in demand. There's also an influx of new people through the talent scheme and its getting more competitive. I wish you the best of luck with finding your next job. Enjoyed your vlog.

The issue here is that in your situation it would be nearly impossible for a company to secure a work visa for you. Local firms, you should not even bother. International firms, maybe, but then they would have to prove no local or mainlander can do it, which isn't the case in your line of work, reason why they will prefer to move someone internally. Even so, it will generally be refused. Don't want to discourage you, you can always get some luck or rare opportunity, but you have to keep that in mind. If you really want to stay in HK (I got it that your husband is there?) you should maybe try another field, in which being a foreigner really is an edge. And, supposing that you don't speak it already, learn mandarin. That requires a tremendous effort but it really helps, even if they never ask for it directly. Cantonese might do it, but I wouldn't recommend it. In any case, always keep the faith, and good luck!
