I was in the 2nd row center for this… it was amazing and one of the last of the small venue U2 shows before rhe 85 Fire tour….

The NYC Big 3 stations were loaded with the top game shows in Prime Access. WCBS Channel 2 had Win, Lose, or Draw and Wheel of Fortune. WNBC Channel 4 would premiere Ray Combs Family Feud on this day albeit 2 weeks late due to the Summer Olympics at 7:30pm. And WABC Channel 7 with Jeopardy! at 7pm which is where the majority of viewers were and the reason for the “This is what you missed” ad at 10:42. WABC would have had 2 game shows but they ditched Hollywood Squares for Entertainment Tonight the month prior.

Incredible performance by the boys. This has always been my favorite song from Soul Asylum. It's pretty obvious what a creative period this was for music. And I'm going to echo what every other middle aged dude says...they aren't turning out music like this today.

I was in kindergarten when this episode aired. I lived in Deposit, New York for nearly a year at the time attended BOCES Masonville watching this on WBNG Ch 12 Binghamton. My father lived in Sayreville, New Jersey at the time watching Wheel on this station.

I and 3 other friends were there but in the balcony. Still, we stood, danced, and sang through most of the show. It was my first full U2 show! I caught their (Adam & Edge) rehearsal of NYD at Pier 86 in '83 earlier in the afternoon bc I was forced to sell my tix and be elsewhere later as people were heading in.

I was there, 5000 PEOPLE, in a Time and a place these guys needed should have NEVER played for less than 50K ever again. Gloria Edge broke his Explorer neck off during Gloria. A CRAZY NYC NIGHT!!!

Should have been released on an album. Would have way more views. Burning Brides is a special band. Been a fan over half my life. And I know every word to every song on every album. Such a fantastic band. They have heavily impacted my life.
