I can control color with my hand? | ARDUINO PROJECT | MEDIA PIPE AI HAND TRACKING IN PYTHON
Просмотров 5 тыс.2 месяца назад
I created this project to explore the media pipe library create by google that uses AI to detect objects in videos. I also used the open CV library to process video. I used Python to get the position of the hand and then C on the Arduino to take incoming serial data and write that to the LED. I am looking for engineering help for a next level project. Anyone can join, Let me know if you’re interested.
Great video+explanation+presentation! Thank you for sharing! Well done mate - NEW SUB 🙏🏻
Thank you for the kinds words!
Umm... Arduino has a whole range devices with wireless communication capabilities, in both Nano and larger form factors.
@_B_K you are correct Arduino has made some pretty neat boards lately, for simplicity I wanted to break it down to the more common boards
@@owenobrien8804 Nano 33 IoT has been around for four and a half years. Nano EPS32 has been around for over a year.
good one
Pretty well done video for beginners! You could also do really small projects like "button turns light on" and explain the parts you're using a little more in depth. Something for the new people to follow along with, while learning something about the parts. You have a real talent for education, you just need to get a little more natural in front of the camera. You could tell that you're not relaxed. Will likely be better with time, just need to keep at it.
Thanks for the tips!
Hey what's your email?
Great vid! How were you able to deal with the python code and input from your hand to the Arduino which is in C++?
The Python sends data using serial and the C++ receives data using serial. This serial data is not language specific therefore can be accessed through any language.
very accurate video!!!!!! nice job man
Thanks!
what do you think of the mini drone with cam using esp32?
I think that it is definitely possible, an issue that might arise when using esp32 cam it to get the camera feed you must be connected to wifi because that is the only way it can communicate a live feed. I would recommend a radio camera if you want live feed. If live feed is not essential then esp32 cam works great!

@owenobrien8804 yup joined... cheers mate!
I was surprised by the sight of swinging a big axe at a stake and then wires came out. hahaha
the pencil's reaction was very fast and precise controlling by your programming
Haha ya I was chopping wood that day though it would be funny. My home uses wood to heat the house in the winter!
I. Just wish alliexpress had a kit with all this stuff in it. A lot don’t contain, survo, and components needed for lcd and all sorts of stuff.
The Elegoo "ELEGOO UNO Project Super Starter Kit" is pretty complete for a good start.
nice video
Glad you liked it!
Dude u are a real life saver thank you sooooo much
Glad I could help!
You gotta get rid of the ESP dev board. Most of the esp chips have built in antenna so thats the hard part over then just panelize them and let someone do the pcb assembly. Also i feel like a pcb mount speaker would be cool. But i am not really a customer coz i dont get no bitches 😎
Cool! Spelling err "Special"
@@fireheadpet2039 thank you for catching that!
Nice video bro. and it is related to me also as i am pursuing ECE (India). and planning to dive into this field.. So thank you for sharing..
Awesome, good luck with your studies!
That looks cool! :)

That looks incredible!

Joined an engineering and robotics club at my HS. Currently working on an ultrasonic radar to get started learning some things. Any projects you would recommend?
I think thats an excellent project to start out with and Good luck! I would recommend focusing on the projects that most interest you right now. Another good one is a button that increases a number on a external screen. You can add a fun twist on it. I made this and it counted the number of bike sales at my job in high school
I was thinking about doing something like that, but it counts in binary instead.
Great mic!
Appreciate that!
Holy cow, Owen! I don't think you could have packed anymore content into this video! 🙂As they say, content is king. Awesome intro to all common components!! PS: I saw that you have used Python in a different project. If you haven't already, you may want to play with MicroPython. It runs amazing on ESP32 boards. Not having to wait for a compile and upload while developing your project is awesome.
I appreciate you! I have yet to check out MicroPython but as I am aware it has limited capability as it does not have as many libraries or control over the board as C does. I will have to check it out though. Your the man HariWiguna!
@@owenobrien8804 , You're absolutely correct. Arduino Library is vast. Another alternative is CircuitPython. A Micropython fork, that's being very actively maintained by AdaFruit. They have libraries for all their peripherals! Still, nothing beats the vast Arduino C library. So, you got me on that. :-)
Great video! A friend just got me a pi 5 as a gift, and I have no idea where to start. I want to learn how to program, so I started through the computer science course on Study Hall (crash course) but it's mostly conceptual so far, and I don't know where to start to get my hands on. Any suggestion for beginners?
Hi there! I was in your exact same position a while ago. I had the pi and actually gave up on using it because I got frustrated and didn't touch electronics again until two years ago. To avoid what happened to me make sure to only do projects you find interesting and enjoy at first as it will motivate you. I learned C language first I believe it is the best beginner one as many languages build off of it. My favorite first real project was a black jack game in terminal
nice bro.. i just found my passion in hardware
Glad to hear it!
This was a nice intro to motor controls and a nice peak into sensors. Some code snippets may take it a bit further.
Thanks! I'll definitely incorporate more code snippets in future videos.
can you reccommend a course online to learn industrial robotics and ROS too maybe
Yes I did "The Construct" ROS bootcamp. The best way by far is doing projects so you can apply skills you have learned.
yo can you plug in the arduno code?
nvm i found it
Well done man!
Appreciate it!
Wait should i start with math and then programming?
Hi Jeff I would recommend starting with programming as I rarely use math in my projects, I also found math to help me understand more complex math concepts. But in the end do what ever you enjoy most!
@@owenobrien8804 I want for robotics
Using math in programs is a great way to learn math.
Starting out? Absolutely do not go an do a degree in robotics or ee. You will just do maths and learn nothing.
You are absolutely correct that later into college you study mostly theoretical stuff that has extremely specific applications and a degree is not needed to start working with mechatronics. The degree is useful for foundations and especially future employment in the stem field.
I have a coworker who triple majored in mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering. He did a lot of math, learned an absolutely massive amount of stuff, and makes incredibly cool stuff with all that knowledge. You can make pretty advanced stuff as a hobbyist without degrees, but it helps a lot to know the theory. And if you're interested in doing cutting edge work, you absolutely need those degrees.
What do you use to describe the forces acting inside of your devices, if not math?
Learn nothing is absolutely wrong. You learn a LOT more with a degree but do whatever you like
And the maths/science will be: Rigid body dynamics, control theory, sensor fusion, attitude estimation (Euler angles, Quaternions, Direction cosine matrix) etc. Added to this are the new topics of AI (computer vision, reinforcement learning)
Keep it up bro, very informative video, i thought it would be a intermediate level video but you were showing for the beginners. I still watched video was good just a tip your energy was very low i think 😂
Appreciate the feedback, I'll try to bring more energy to future videos!
good video
would love to see a video showing your 3d printing process!
Awesome will start making one!
can i add some tips?
Yes of course!
@@owenobrien8804 if someone wanna maybe hone math or physics skills for machine learning and robotics you might wanna look into: khan acadamy website the courses are free. and it can also be handy if you have a reassonable understanding of arduino you might want to look into books about c & c++ it can help very much later down the line. and also books about electronics that all
Excellent recommendations! I would say my skills are best with coding but I need to work on my electrical knowledge.
@@owenobrien8804 my advise is get a reasonable understanding of just c/c++ and then look for a book about electronics

Shes banging all of india while your over here thinking shes in love whith you
B is better bc the ❤ looks like a V
You know you can actually text the person
Valid concern, from surveys and talking to people, I have found that people enjoy the novelty of the device and how it's a unique way to message people similar to why people still send post cards or letters to people
Why not just texting? I’m confused as to what this is doing IG
I think b is better :)
