I feel like that was less to do with him having Lynx, and more to do with him slaying a monstrosity and teaching them the technologies needed to protect themselves from others like it. I guess Lynx did give him a good first impression, at least, which certainly helped. You know, actually, that's a pretty reasonable way to depict it. It won't give you superpowers, and you'll have to win them over with your own deeds, but it will give you damn fine first impression which you can build a relationship upon.
