Mechanical engineer here … this assembly has no use with spring inserted. There is NO tension applied! Dumb design intended to conform to “child safety” endoresemnet as a marketing gimmick.

So many questions. I'd guess you are a Salesman and not an installer :). 1. Do the screws used to hold the housing need to be recessed? 2. The end caps on the track don't have required groove to accept the spline in the recessed housing. How do you work around this real world? In your sample the recessed reveal was NARROWER than the track so it wasn't an issue. 3. You never explained how the track has to start flush on one wall and then be pushed back to the other wall, there by engaging the spline. 4. Once the retaining spline is installed how would you take it out if necessary? Thanks in advance

Dumbest design ever!

The spring provided certainly doesn't snap over the U so easily. And once you tighten the screws it pushes the U all the way out rendering the insert useless. Have to leave the screws out half way and that just looks ridiculous.
