    can you fit this whistle to berties as well?

    • @richardhuss
      @richardhuss 9 лет назад

      Joe Bradley Manor Really good question... Almost certainly not this exact model (which is the one DJB do for a Roundhouse "Fowler" as the resonator tube and gas tank would be in each other's ways. Possible one of their other ones might fit, though I'd want to measure and check very carefully as the dome and saddle tank don't leave much room on the cab front. One idea might be to drop DJB a line and ask them whether they know of anyone who has fitted one of their whistles to a Bertie. In fact, having done a bit of googling I found this thread - gardenrails.myfreeforum.org/archive/steam-whistle__o_t__t_8980.html - which indicates that someone has done so but it was one that went under the cab floor.

    Yes, I plan to make some fake goods to sit over the top to try and hide the spaghetti wires! I love the paint job on your Millie, it makes it look very smart. I hope to get mine lined like yours in the future because I think it works really well. Also, someone I know has a Wren as well and I think they look very detailed. You certainly have a perfect fleet of locomotives! I should hopefully have a small portable layout by the summer to run my engines on and perhaps a garden railway in future.

    Thanks, yes I was wondering about the wagon. Watching again, right at the end I did catch a quick glimpse of the batteries etc. in the wagon.

  • @ThomasMoody
    @ThomasMoody 11 лет назад

    If you look in the video, you can see a wagon behind the loco. The radio control unit and batteries are housed in there and there is a switch hidden just under the chassis. The wagon was just a brand bright multi-plank wagon kit.

    Very nice - great wee engines, aren't they? Where have you ended up putting the batteries and receiver? Managed (with difficulty!) to squeeze both onto the engine, under the footplate.

  • @ThomasMoody

    Is Wilberforce in Victorian Maroon or just Maroon? Mine is in Maroon and I am thinking about lining it like yours.

  • @richardhuss
    @richardhuss 11 лет назад

    Hi, It's based around 2x IP Engineering "Atlantic Observation Coach" (hacked around to move a door) and 1x "Atlantic Buffet Coach". Power bogies are scratchbuilt around the IP wheelsets with MFA Como 3v motors. Planet T5 2.4GHz radio control with the AnDel "Triplex 3" speed controller. 5xAA batteries under on power car. Much more on the Garden Railway Forum (link in video description).

  • @NEDRAGLIGHTRAILWAY
    @NEDRAGLIGHTRAILWAY 11 лет назад

    Exellent, Super smooth slow speed, are these scratch built? What ESC/Radio setup are you using? Will look great when painted and populated, KBO! you are doing a great job.

    Beast, rather than Thing, is definitely the correct classification for it. The works plate says "Built 1992 [I think - might be 1982 but I think 1992 is correct] W. H. Andrews, Seaton Ross". Single (huge) oscillating cylinder, geared about 2:1; displacement lubricator with oil feed regulator; exhaust diverter (funnel or downwards). Five-tube meths burner with chicken feed; boiler has 16 fire tubes (yikes) and steams nicely. On-board water tank with hand and axle pumps. Quality engineering.

  • @Aizoon
