Good Music Doesn't Have Expiration Date
Добавлен 11 ноя 2011
Just a little corner where I can share a few things I did as a musician in the New York area from 1980 to 2002...and things I record now, from time to time just for fun, since I have a smartphone.

Instruments:
Recorded with a Roland VS880 16 tracks

My lil tribute to Redbone "Come And Get Your Love" (1974)
Просмотров 65321 день назад
"Come and Get Your Love" reached the Top 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1974. The single went certified Gold selling over a million copies. It also made Redbone the first Native American band to reach the top five on the US Billboard Hot 100, with the song reaching number 5. #redbone #mexicanamerican nativeamerican #rock #comeandgetyourlove
Star Eyes (cover) Claudio Fornaro (1980s)

Another one of my home recording with use of an ordinary double deck cassette player. I laid the rhythm guitar a Takamine acoustic then I somehow layered the lead guitar a Cortez, an imitation of a Les Paul. It had a pretty good sound, I regret selling it. #joepass #stareyes #claudiofornaro #cortez #jazz #electricguitar

My cover: A Ilha by Djavan (1980)

Back in the 80s-90s I didn't have a computer or home studio so I would occasionally use a boombox tape deck to record myself (and thta's the result). Recording yourself is the best way to hear how you sound and make corrections and improvements as yougo. The problem was I used to play gigs and had to constantly learn new tunes but only had so much time to polish every song.
The solo. From a demotape I recorded in 1984

Down memory lane... This is the solo for one of the tunes I recorded in '84 for my demotape The Girl From Ipanema, in Fmaj (A Garota De Ipanema) I used a Cortez Les Paul style, although I'm not an electric guitar player, I did get a kick of using it for awhile.

The photos (black & white) were taken by the late Silvio (Redi) Redinger, a good friend that I miss. He was also an oustanding well known cartoonist and passioinate Brazilian tamborim player. #dudukafonseca #stevesacks #davidsacks #dudukadafonseca #dennisirwin #redi #bossanova #baiao #Brazilianmusic #claudiofornaro

Good job man. You have a couple pictures in there I've never seen. Dickey always had a smile and he always picked up the phone when nobody else would. RIP Dickey, tell Jay I'll be home soon.😢

He was one of the best ones ever..
He was.
Saw him so many times - my go to band. 🙏🏼
RIP
Thanks, man. Needed that
Yes Sr.
Muito parecido com a pegada do próprio Baden, digitação leve, sem estalar as cordas e as notas. Isso faz toda a diferença
Amazing!
Thank you ☺️
Ciao Claudio🤗🤗 Complimenti👏👏👏🎶🎵🍷🍷
