Yes many play over dominants, trie Freddy Hubbard or Woody Shaw. Perhaps Clifford Brown, or a guy called Dizzy?
@@Thouveninpascalit’s widely recognized that KD was the king of altered dominants, especially the tritone substitution. Ask Ryan Kisor, Joe Magnarelli, or any trumpet player in the know on the scene today and they’ll all tell you the same thing.

On the second chorus the chords are off by a bit. Freddie ends his solo during the F pedal part. 4 bars before the end of the form.

I use a Marcinkiewicz Bobby Shew Flugelhorn Mouthpiece. It’s a great mouthpiece!
@@TobyYoungTrumpet Oh, wow. I was just looking at that mouthpiece. I have the Yamaha Bobby Shew mouthpiece and am wondering how they differ.
I think that they are very similar mouthpieces just with slightly different rims. For me, I go for comfort and the Marcinkiewicz feels great on my face but it is also slightly more expensive than the Yamaha version.
