Good man! I watched this video when I was stranded in the middle of a busy parking lot after dropping off an Uber fare. Thankfully I was able to put the link on without the bushing as a temporary fix and I went over to the dealership this morning.

Hope this works. After having to find the part, my son will be installing. Just wanted to let everyone know the part number changed it now is Part#KV6Z-7K340-A. Was also told this will be a recall item and even if you fixed yourself do the recall. There is another part that only a technician can do. However this will fix the problem for now. Hope this helps.

Same thing happened to me last Friday. In Parking lot. 2018 Fusion. Bought extended warranty when I purchased car. Have 59000 miles and warranty covered repair but dealer says the whole mechanism had to be replaced. But I doubt the shifter really needed replaced based on the dozens of videos I’ve seen with same issue.

Don't blame it on Mexico. It may be built in Mexico, per the US design specifications. If you source assemblies from China don't expect good quality and reliability.

Hello, my bushing is completely off as well, but before I replace it, would it be the same problem if my rotary shift is simply flashing on the P symbol and even if I poke it and try to putting it on neutral, it doesn’t budge? I’m thinking about ordering the bushing and replacing. My car said the same message.
