A small selection of films from Savile Row tailors Anderson & Sheppard featuring cutting and tailoring, training and events that we have taken part in. We hope to give visitors an insight into the traditional craft and standards that go into an Anderson & Sheppard suit, as well as an overview of the apprentice programme. Our channel will also feature occasional guidance from senior Anderson & Sheppard staff, which visitors might find useful when considering a new bespoke commission.

In the year commemorating the bicentenary of the Battle of Waterloo, the Woolmark Company, the tailors of Savile Row and the shirt and shoemakers of St James’s hosted the fourth LC:M presentation at the former home of the 1st Duke of Wellington, who led Britain to victory in the famous battle.
The origins of British menswear lie in the tailors, shirtmakers and bootmakers who made the military uniforms for our forces. Hence, the military tradition on Savile Row dates back to its earliest days, and as part of that tradition there is a strong connection with the uniforms of the cavalry and equestrianism in general.

The first time I saw a scene like this was in the spy movie.."The tailor from Panama. One scene was a tailor measuring & marning with the chalk. Cutting the cloth, etc. I must have watched that scene dozens of times...just for the joy of watching the skill, care and workmanship involved. This video shows an elegance that is sadly lost in most of our world today. Beautifully done.
