Baby Suncheek Sisters

I just got a baby caique last week and it's super cute. However, we are puzzled by its super loud screeching screams and he wouldn't stop doing that unless we let him out of the cage or play with him and its probably not because its hungry because we it still screeches even after being fed ? Is there any tips. We are terrified that our neighbours might not be able to take the noise. Love u videos btw
Because they don’t like being in the cage. And babies especially need a lot of attention and cuddles.
And make sure they have lots of safe toys to play with.
My 7 month old White Belly is almost always quiet. Unless we come in the house. Then she most definitely expects attention. Best addition to my family ever! FYI! My wife and I do not have children. Now if I can get the caique to accept the dog. We will be good
Hi Annie, Caiques do need a fair bit of time out of their cage. My husband made a ladder out of natural eucalyptus branches (we live in Australia). I hung toys from it and the Caique loves to climb on the ladder and play with the toys. Make sure you have the diet right (we give our Caique fresh fruit, nuts, pellets and seeds). Read up on the correct diet for Caiques. Sit with your Caique as much as you can - they need companionship because they are, like all parrots, very intelligent. Good luck!

So cute! Whats the typical age when fully weaned and how much would they weigh at that stage?
Question my white bellied caique is about 4 1/2 months old and still has a yellow stomach is that normal? When do they usually get their white bellies? My black headed caique has had a white bellie since I got him at 7weeks old
They usually get it after their first molt. Their heads also turn orange (if they have black), at this time as well. Typically first molt happens around 1year of age.
@@angellsaviary2517 oh okay that's what I thought , I was also thinking that I might have had a subspecies caique, But I do hope after the first molt that mine gets his white stomach it looks so good on them and really stands out and yes mine also has specs of black on his head..

Oh my gosh I already ordered my bird I got exactly what I wanted I got the regular green shake cuz I wanted the black pigmentation in the beak in the feet and I also wanted to mail turns out mine's a female. But oh my gosh if I would have seen your little boy with the black feet that's a yellow sided that's what exactly I was looking for a male yellow sided mutation with still the darker feet
Congrats on your new baby. Yes, the yellowsided male is a unquie color. He is almost a half and half mix between normal and yellowsided. I had a normal last year with pink feet.

So so you prefer white bellied caiques over black headed caiques?or do you like both the same?
I don't have any blackhead Caiques, but do prefer the size and looks of the white bellied Caiques. I have heard that black headed Caiques may be slightly more agresssive that wb Caiques, but can't verify that. They have more similarities that differences though. So may just depend on what you have availability to get in your area.
@@angellsaviary2517 Thankfully I have both their really isnt much difference other then size and looks , personality/playfulness is the same..
@@angellsaviary2517 Also they both have white bellies so I think a more appropriate name for the white bellied caiques should be orange head caiques, But hey that's just me..

Usually within a few days, but some pairs will mate way ahead of the eggs to practice and bond. You will see a bulge on one side of the hens vent when she is about to lay an egg.

Are they loud ?
Not particularly, but it depends on the noise level you are used to. They do have more volume than a budgie, but less than a sun conure.
@@angellsaviary2517 thank you...I have a pair of crimson bellied Conure...they are very silent as compared to a sun Conure...I am planning to buy a pair of Suncheek Conure but since I stay in an apartment...I have to be very careful about the noise level as well
