Back in 1993 when she played Rio as part of the Girlie Show the audience had started to be let into the stadium early in the afternoon and they all got to see her doing the sound check. I believe that that was the first time any audience ever saw her sound check take place. She was in a very good and light hearted mood that day and sang the girl from Impanema. Normally in those days her sound check and rehearsals all took place in private with her fans only able to listen from outside the venue if it was an open air stadium date. If it was an arena show then fans never even got a chance to listen let alone see her pre show. Since Sticky and Sweet to the present day Madonna usually arrives at the venue in the late afternoon and is them their back stage preparing after doing the sound check. I remember Live Nation who are her official ticket retailer started selling ticket packages that included access to what they called a sound check "party". This was really just M and her crew of musicians and dancers doing a regular sound check but she would talk to fans in the pit at the front of the stage. There were some dates though that she was in a foul mood and if she was having trouble hearing through her in ear monitors then she had to tell the audience to shut up because she couldn't hear the music at and was angry with sound team. In 2006 during the Confessions Tour she did a special outdoor stadium show in Rome. All other shows were in indoor arenas because of the stage set that needed to be hung from a venue's roof. I remember that for some reason even though the venue had been told not to let fans into the stadium until 5PM they let everyone in the gates mid afternoon. She came out on stage to do her sound check and was furious that people had been let in early. She tried to get her team to send everyone out the gates but people would not leave. So she tried to tell everyone that they were going to have to be super quiet because it was the first outdoor show on the tour and she wanted to make sure that everyone on stage could hear the band and that the audience everywhere in the stadium needed to be able to hear all of the different sounds clearly. When the audience started cheering and singing along she was close to losing her temper and had to tell everyone "listen I love you all and tonight you can sing and cheer as loud as you want and do you know what it will make me love you all even more but just now I need you all to shut the fuck up l!"😅😅
