Code is syntax...problem solving is math ;)
Programming comes from maths :)
The prime rules ...don't challenge;)
Saw this on ig. If only I could force the industry to watch that clip.
The industry is definitely out of whack. Too much money is spent over engineering websites 😅
I come by way of IG.
That is so annoying when you can load everything expect the page you’re wanting to see
Definitely a big problem!
Good point but companies are usually run by business people not engineers so it's form over function
Hopefully companies can get back to basics and realize when complexity is needed.
Thanks for the forecast! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
What?
great title
Thank you!
is hotdog-diaper compatible with bun?
Seems like there would be some synergy there for sure
This is the wierdest between the ferns episode I have ever seen.
😂
first
What?
So many good takes!!!
Thanks! Which was your favorite?
Thanks for having me, this was so fun!
Thanks for coming on! Maybe we can do a part two with you and Ken leading up to React Miami
@@WhiskeyWebAndWhatnot lets do it!!
Sst 18:45
11:15
So what 😂
About what?
@@WhiskeyWebAndWhatnot about big companies and Django , most of dajngo devs are solo developers.
I needed a tool after Gatsby folded I found this and WOW Ember is straight forward. And you are using 100% JavaScript, no JSX no made up stuff. This is a great place for a newbie, Devs won't use Ember because it's straight forward. React is a total mess. I think I will stay in Ember
Totally agree that Ember has the best DX!
Damn that dude is handsome
Mustache game is unmatched
I think Svelte 5 is the first version of Svelte where I can see React devs using it. Svelte 4 syntax was too magical for me but the Runes API gives me the control I need for fine grained reactivity. I think it will be a big hit.
Do you have an example of something that needs fine grained reactivity control?
@@WhiskeyWebAndWhatnot Updating a data table with 4k rows and updating only 1 row. A graphical dashboard that updates constantly from push events with large data sets. Updating only 1 object in the array make the UI much smoother.
Are you displaying all 4,000 rows at once? I think most frameworks handle this for you by only rerendering what changed. React does it backwards and rerenders everything all the time unless you use a lot of hooks to tell it what not to rerender.
@@WhiskeyWebAndWhatnot We use a virtual table component we wrote our selves that renders only what is visible and fetches more data from cache as the user scrolls. Still was smoother in Svelte 5 vs. 4 when we tested it.
@Hot takes- Prettier recommends using it "on save", if you don't there is almost no benefit. @SSR- I agree with the SSR take, the strong push and promotion for SSR started from deployment platforms who like to charge more for server resources, there is less money for them if we all build SPA's. @BuildTools- I think the reason why nobody copied embers built tool is that it is just not as good as the vanilla way of doing things, you call everything overcomplicated without seeing that Ember itself and its generators are overcomplicated and just not needed, the reason you all love them is you are used to them, maybe take a step back and you will see that ESM is all you need.
Totally agree! SSR is not necessary most of the time. A lot of the web can just be static files.
I like BEM, yes i hate that is that verbose, but if there's something off to fix i can just copy the name of the class from the browser and find it in the source right away even from production, and that alone makes it really worth it despite all the drawbacks.
Wouldn’t the same be true without BEM if you named your classes uniquely?
@@WhiskeyWebAndWhatnot yes, BEM only makes it very easy to have a unique name
14:15 I play elden ring on linux, and in my deck. Skill issue.
😂
Hey! I've been on that place! There's my good friend Jared
It’s a great spot for whiskey!
graphQL makes front end code so verbose. The only way it's truly useful is to compensate a broken back end / front end teams relation. I've been there dreaming about adding one f-in field in some API instead of having to bundle data into a page builder content or even worse, code. Some companies have no functional management, so half of the data used by front end are literally smuggled into the viewport by back channels. In a way graphQL forces management to give the front end teams some responsibility about data models and access. It still doesn't create things that are not found is DB but at least you don't need to wait for the 6 month delay to complete a simple API refresh task.
Definitely not the ideal setup

Didn't expect NIMBYs and zoning laws to be mentioned within the first minutes of the podcast.

Rich Harris, if you're a home cook, I'll share when I had kids I had to become a proficient short order cook 🍳
Lmfao rich harris is a true gem. He says he only knows the basics of git and then minutes later chides the js community for not understanding their tools hahahahhaa. ❤ Rich and svelte
Woah, woah, woah he was talking about other devs not himself 😝
Your producers were late . You speak truth my friend 😂 Cricket is also big in UK. Please we need some cricket people also in tech 😅
You’ll have to convince Chuck to like it more than football 😝
Absolute poop
Wow. I want to see 1000x more prime talking over life and family. That was amazing
We hope to keep bringing you more! There are 3 episodes so far.
You're awesome! Let's be friends and play together!
Hey Chuck! Great podcast!
Thanks for listening!
Tupac was a plant biggie was real.

Hey all, loved this talk ❤ I’m curious about something. At 33.03 ye speak about how accessibility can “boost” seo but not quite to the extent that people think, can you elaborate on this please?
I think what we were saying was Google doesn’t rank sites higher for being accessible, but they do check a couple things like color contrast etc

🧢
RIP 👑.
I really like that ThePrime was keen to talk about family
Prime is a family man
Prime argument in regards to porn or regretting choices is valid but one cannot learn the mistake or the action without doing or experiencing. You should not deny choice just because you believe the outcome will be negative, you won’t learn unless you fail. Now porn - does produce unrealistic expectations and creates expectations of performance.. what Prime I believe is trying to be to say on just a human level is that loving someone comes with commitment and exploration as a couple in a relationship.. he’s not against sex but more the idea that sharing that with someone should come with greater meaning, which I agree. Society has evolved over time through multiple over corrections from the right to the left of ideas.. And over time we’ll probably move on to something completely different..
Valid point. Failure does lead to growth
I thought the Ganon that comes out of the paintings was pretty cool. It's kind of a lame fight though but a cool magical concept.
Prime is the man. Great pod. Prime is serving as an anchor and we needed one. He’s genuine, he’s raw and he’s honest with what he says.
Prime is indeed the man. Got another episode with him coming very soon!
vscode sidebar on the right - keeps your code anchored to left edge when showing/hiding sidebar. much more calm experience.
Is that the main argument for why you should move it?
@@WhiskeyWebAndWhatnot It's my only argument. It's nice that my code doesn't jump around every time i cmd-b.
this was awesome ❤ Thank you guys.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wise man indeed.
Ah yeah, makes total sense, yeah! Just went to some Ember again after years, then wondered about still seeing Broccoli/Babel on `serve` and not already Vite! 😻
Vite is working with Ember already, it’s just not the default yet. Hopefully soon!
@@WhiskeyWebAndWhatnot, ah yeah, super right, haha! 😹💦 Found it in the meantime: "lifeart/demo-ember-vite" (seems my response gets blocked when adding URLs). Thanks for responding, so we leave this trail here for anyone else coming here! 😻 Always missed Ember because of JSONAPI/Ember Data - there's just *nothing* comparable out there - NgRx Data for example was totally over engineered and finally even failed now to move on! So I'm excessively glad to know it's worked on making Ember Data framework agnostic into a generic solution, I really hope that'll also finally lead to the breakthrough of JSONAPI, which is sadly super mega neglected by the vast majority of the JS community outside of Ember! 🙀
@@WhiskeyWebAndWhatnot, the censorship of just anything is just insane on YT now! Tried several times, thought an URL would be the cause, but no, still it censors it away - well, I'm surely on many blacklists with YT because I'm "alt-right" and "pro Russian", etc. ✊🏻 Really makes no sense anymore to comment anything on YT, it's a dying platform anyway.
@@WhiskeyWebAndWhatnot, lol, even my x-th attempt got removed - YT is dead, super!
Straight G shit.
Glad you enjoyed it!
