This really happened. Fersen had no idea he was talking to Marie until a countess he was with told him he was actually talking to her. I really enjoyed this scene. Sofia captures so much with so little dialogue. Her aesthetics are all about music, cinematography, and mood. Milena Canonero said it best when she won the Oscar for costume design for this film that the film was like a poem and it inspired her everyday. Love this gem of a movie!
