    Damn, but I love me a Maker. I'm a healer by trade myself, but I do a little bit of creation myself, of stories. Building houses, though...that's a good job, a job to be proud of. Peni R. Griffin's book, *_A Dig In Time,_* is a celebration of a builder of homes for working people, too. It's a YA, but it's worth anybody's time to read.

    Could the odd rhymes be a deliberate attempt to sound like from an older time that parsed as having had some kind of wisdom or understanding the modern age of progress was losing? Kipling must have been familiar with Shakespeare's works, they're taught in the Anglophone world even today in our schools with much less focus on literature (and more on mathematics, to bump up the test scores), and the idea that writers from long ago had hidden wisdom lost to contemporaries is an idea that has appeared in many times and places throughout human civilizations. It seems to be a natural impulse of Man, perhaps stemming from the same need that makes us listen to and preserve the stories of the past in the first place because they may hold important survival information or other culturally-known truths.

    • @Rocketsong
      @Rocketsong 4 месяца назад

      I've noticed some very odd rhymes in Henry Lawson as well. But there is at least with Lawson there is the possibility that those rhyme in Australian.

    I’ve got the 6-string version of one of these. It’s a fun guitar to play. But yeah, with a shallow bowl it’s really meant to be plugged in, with its pure acoustic tones meant for practice. As for the way Ovations always slide around on your body, the solution is just to wear a strap at all times. (Kind of like with a V-shaped electric guitar.)

      I actually keep this one tuned down to E-flat, mostly for those 80's power ballads. Or if I want to play something in G which is just a bit high for me.

      I'm blaming you for this: The Moon called, she said to please pick up your toys it isn't very seemly for either girls or boys. To leave your robots scattered, And lying where they fell. And would it hurt to visit for a spell? The Moon called, she said it's been a long long time, the last time that you visited a phone call cost a dime. And it's so very lonely up in orbit high above. And Would it hurt to show a little love The Moon Called, I think she's figured out voice mail. Left 17 messages and a couple of e-mails. Says it's far past time, to go clean up your mess It's not like you don't know her address The Moon called, you know it's starting to get old like a telemarketer selling insurance cold Maybe we should visit, I'm sure it'd make her smile, and maybe she'll be quite, for a while. Larrivee's OM-05 and OM-09 always had a 1-3/4 neck. For the first few years of production, the OM-03 had a 1-11/16 neck. (basically they just used dreadnought necks) Mine measures 1.694" with a set of dial calipers. If an OM-03 is new enough to have wood binding, it should have the wider OM neck.

    The wreckage now has vanished The waves cavort and roll I’m riding on a coffin and conversing with my soul I understand completely now what Ahab tried to do And if I live to get to land I’ll try and do it too Our lives are full of sorrow And all the preachers say The Lord God knows our misery to make us all obey Is that the loving father's word or just a tyrants game If all the world is ruled by God then surely He's to blame The vision stand before me And I believe it still The Puritan god is a vicious thug that Ahab meant to kill So Ahab brought his Farsi and his shamans one and all To kill the Lord by voodoo with the whale his voodoo doll And how did Bedford do it (Not sure about this line) They helped us arm and pack They warned us of the danger but they didn't hold us back For all their pious mullings of curses death and sin They didn't dare to say it but they hoped that we would win But Moby Dick proved the stronger The Pequod sprung a leak I sympathize with Ahab's cause but question his technique For all that I have studied of error sea or sun (not sure about this line either) Starvation is the surest way that man can kill a god No more I'll give Him worship The faith on which He feeds No more the fear and ignorance on which the Tyrant breeds With ridicule in my left hand and science in my right I'll do my best to pull Him down or at least begin the fight I now resolve my vision Unto the bitter end While riding to my rescue on the coffin of my friend The Tyrant still may kill me of hunger sharks or thirst But I swear I'll try to bring Him down if He can't kill me first
