Knitting Un-Haul: Everything you don't need!
I love how much a simple knit and purl pattern can be so beautiful!
Great video thanks
Hey which size of the safety eyes did you use? Looks very cute ❤
Hi! Thank you :) these are 8mm safety eyes, but I have also made them with 10mm!
I have the easy knit book, and one of my favorites are the vest - so you did inspire me to knit it. Currently I have themonday sweater on my needle, but I have paired it with the Norma sweater color and stripes, and I will do a mock neck for it. So far the Monday sweater looks like a good staple. So I would recommend it also for you :)
That sounds great! I’m excited to make the Monday sweater :) I actually just unravelled the diamond twill vest and restarted it 2 sizes smaller because it was so huge, despite my gauge being correct! I’m not sure at the moment if it’s my yarn that stretches (I’m using drops Nepal), but I think it’s also to do with the knit/purl pattern. Maybe something to be aware of!
One of my favorite pattern of simple sweater is kika'a cinema sweater I made 4 one and each of them turn perfect. I highly recommend it.
Oh that’s a great recommendation, thank you!! 🥰
It’s not enjoyable to wear woolly sweaters in warm conditions. I live in India where temperatures are almost never low enough to really make me grab my woollen clothing. But I love to knit. So I have started knitting with cotton, silk and viscous yarns only.
That is very true, I used to live in the tropics and the only thing I knitted there were toys/accessories because woolen sweaters were unthinkable!
Hi, love your videos. Do you have a pattern for the sweater that you are using?
Hi, thank you! The gray sweater is the men’s zipper light pattern by petite knit, is that the one you mean? :)
hey, i recently found your channel and loving the podcast since :) just one suggestion: sometimes you are very fast showing the yarn and the book wich makes it a little busy to watch.
Hi! Thanks for this! I will definitely keep it in mind for my next podcasts! 🥰🥰 thanks for your support!
Hi, I also bought the new book of Kutovakika and I'm knitting 3 garments from the book!
That’s so cool! Which ones are you making? :)
@@stitchespastfive Take me out,Sweet heart and Daily stripes.
I'm so glad you ventured in broche knitting 😅 It makes it look achievable
Yeah! This was half fisherman’s rib stitch, and it was really doable! Just be sure to do a gauge swatch and block it - it changes in size quite a lot!!
Nt knitting, though mayber next year, but I am crocheting some things! Happy pre-holiday season!
Thats so nice! 🎄🧑🎄 happy holidays!
I loved this gift pattern roundup! Thank you!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it! 🥰
I love the cute fluffy washcloths, thanks for the patterns
Right! Me too 😍😍
Thanks for sharing these!
I’m glad you like them!
Love your ideas!
Thank you! I’m glad you like them! 🥰
Thanks for this amazing pattern review (I love your reviews!). Norma Sweater is great.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it! I agree - it’s on my list of sweaters to make!
I watched this video while knitting the Jolly Wee Elf pattern!
That’s so cute! I really love those elves 😍🥰
Thanks for sharing these and taking the time to pick out these patterns :)
You are so welcome! 🥰🥰
I love homemade Christmas tree decorations - a few of these might make their way onto my tree!
Me too! I think they’re such a fun way to get into the holiday spirit! ✨✨
I really love how the colouring of the miniscarf turned out!
Thank you! I also really love how it turned out :)
Thank you for this, I didn’t understand why the set doesn’t include the 40cm 😅. I’ve spend so much time looking at videos and reading reviews on Amazon. I’ll make sure I’ll buy the cable separately as well as the smaller needle 😊
Thank you! :) yes exactly! It is actully written very small on the side of each box the needles come in, but its an easy one to overlook for sure!
Thanks for this review! I am looking to buy new needles and this was very helpful
Glad it was helpful! :)
Thank you so much for your well done review. I felt it was honest, unbiased, and most of all trustworthy.. You know what you are talking about. So glad I found your site.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
Love your channel hoping ti grow as fast as you!!
Aww thank you! 🥰
Interesting! Do you have to also set up as a micro-business for tax purposes too then like us in France?
Thank you! For the size of my channel I don't need to do this (yet). It depends on the amounts you actually end up making in a year!
Thank you for sharing! 🫶
My pleasure!
€20 is a good bit of yarn!
thats right!!
20 is better than nothing!!
true!!
thanks for sharing this!
I use knitpro indigo wood and mini-series. These are so nice too. I have a plan to buy ginger series short ones. I like to have kit itself cuz it is compact. However, I had doubts for years to buy it. I recommend anyone has committed to knitting many projects get good needles. I never use prym one cuz it is hard to find in Turkey. In case you do not have any access prym I highly recommend knitpro indigo wood series.
thanks for your comment! I have personally never heard of these needles, but they sound like a great alternative!
I have washed my sweater in the laundry mashine without any problems and just leave it to dry flat. As some others I have an issue with the peeling, so I would not work with it again for sweaters, but i would probably try it for accessories too.
I agree with this! I think I would also be a little bit nervous to machine wash my sweaters/cardigans made of Drops Air, but good to hear that it worked for you!
Hey Vera, lovely video! I also own Prym needles in both metal and wood and I would recommend them as well (Even though I also broke two of my 3 mm wood needles). Just to let you know: funnily enough, the interchangable cables for my metal needles set (KnitPro Zing) do twist; so maybe you can purchase them separately.
Thank you! That is a great tip! I do like twisting needles :)
I have been thinking about buying these, thank you for the good review!
Thank you! ☺️
I was gifted the kit and even though it comes in a handy pouch I am not sure I would recommand it. I've had it for more than a year, and have not used half of the needles ! I even bought other ones separately, because the kit only starts at size 4 and I find miself using the smaller needles most of the time. You never know, but I don't think I will be using the 8 to 10 needles that are in the kit. I really love the pouch though, I can even fit my extra needles in it ! An other thing that bothers me is that one of my needles in the kit came damaged (not smouth enough, so the fibers get stuck all the time) but I realized it months after getting the kit, so I would recommand to test all the needles just after buying them. :) Also on my needles and cables the writings tend to fade away at some point. Maybe it depends on the type of fiber you use, and I notice you didn't mention this con so it might not happen to all their needles, but it is kind of annoying when you have so many of them haha Apart from that, I agree with you, love these needles ! (but now I wish they would twist haha, I didn't know this feature existed !)
Thank you for your comment! These are great insights! Yes I agree, I think the set includes a lot of needles that might not actually be necessary, I guess the average price per needle is lower with it though… for me buying them as I need them has been just fine! I haven’t had my writing on them fade, perhaps it does only happen with some of them!
These are my favourite needles - 10/10 would recommend
I totally agree!! 😍🧶
The daydreamer cardigan is very similar just different construction - I really recommend this one!
Thank you! Next Time I will make this one!
I hope you can review her new book because it is very helpful video. Now I am working on bubblegum sweater while watching this video and sad to know it is your least favorite one :)
Thank you!! I’m glad you found it helpful! That’s so cool!! Just because it’s not my favourite doesn’t mean it can’t be yours! I still find the sweater so nice, just not really my personal style!
I guess instead of honey you should try daydreamer cardigan. It has better construction I guess. I haven't knit it but it is in my list.
Yes you’re totally right🥰🥰 it seems like the daydreamer cardigan is very similar without all the sewing construction…
Pink hat looks wonderful on you!! Don’t frog 🐸
Aww thank you! I won’t frog it now after all these encouraging comments on here now 🥰❤️
Thanks for this review! I also like to buy things from people that I follow, especially when they take me along the road of a project this big, and Veronika Lindberg does that really well. I was thinking of buying the book, and your review contributes to that, but she has a second knitting book coming out at the end of this year so maybe I'll wait for that, because that looks really promising too! What are your thoughts on that, based on what she revealed so far? Much love from the Chiemgau Alps!
Aww thank you so much! I’m also really excited for her second book to come out, I want to try to buy it as a hard copy as I have this one digitally. I love watching her process, I find it so inspiring! So nice to see fellow people from the Alps here! ❤️⛰️🏔️
I love this time of year, where it feels like I have more and more time to think about my winter knits :) Working on a big sweater atm while watching this <3
Aww thats so sweet :) I agree I love autumn for this reason 🙂🥰
I really like the pink beanie you made! :)
Thank you! I think I’m going to try to adjust it slightly to have it fit me better so that I actually start wearing it! 🥰
Excellent review. I have the hard cover of this book. It’s an inspiration book for me. I’ve knitted two of her tutorial projects and I love them both. She is a fun teacher.
Thank you! I agree!! Sometimes it’s nice to have these books to just get inspired to pick up a project again! 😇
Good overview of the book. I would definitely not use Drops mohair if I knit the hat. I find it to scratchy against my sensitive skin. The pattern includes Merino which I think is important for stretch and body.
Thank you! I used Drops Air which is a tiny bit scratchy for some, but I don’t have any issues with it! Mohair would definitely be too scratchy I agree!
Wow stunning selection !! I love them all, thanks a lot for gathering it in this video ! ☀
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it! 🥰🥰
Maizena!
I loved this video, it gave me so many new ideas for projects! These are the kind of designs I love <3 Marimakko is actually a Finnish company and their design patterns are made by several different designers. The one you are talking about is called Unikko and it was designed by Maija Isola in 1964 ☺
Thank you for the correction, yes that’s exactly what I meant!! 🥰🥰
Great selection! Thank you for taking the time to find these and provide details! I hope you start one soon!
Thanks! Glad you liked it! 🥰
What a wonderful variety of patterns! Thank you!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it 🥰
