The logo is actually a LED. When it's off it's completely black. When on it's a light green. When you switch the fan to a higher RPM it flows bright green. I had the same thought as well. I would rather have it all back honestly.

Legit. Escaflowne is one of the OG Guymelefs' of the setting, made by the Draconian people (Atlanteans). It also synchronizes so heavily with it's rider, that Van can feel the damage done ot the Escaflowne, and can even control is without being inside it - the more he uses it, the more the suit syncs with him. This anime and the movie (two different continuums really) both relay such strong feelings of weight and movement - it's excellently animated, really.
