Walking to Positano
This is the last stretch of The Path of the Gods. We walked from Nocelle to Positano down hundreds of steps through little forests and olive groves. There were surprise peek-a-boo vistas around every corner.

Tahini and Tivali have one Christmas wish: to destroy our Christmas tree. They are working very hard to get that wish, and now they are working in tandem!

This is the 5 year anniversary of Occupy Central. You can see in the beginning one of the people arrested for throwing red paint on singer and activist Denise Ho. Later you can see people chanting, "Fight for freedom! Stand with Hong Kong!"

The sunsets in Palawan are spectacular. Best enjoyed with a glass of wine, of course! This was taken at a rustic "resort"/camp called Sunset Colors, a short boat ride from Port Barton.

Just outside of Taipei in Yangmingshan National Park, there are dozens of trails with spectacular views over Taipei and the ocean. This one is about 2.4 km straight up Mt. Qixing and 1.4 km down. Although it's hot and there are hundreds of stairs, the views at the top are absolutely worth it. You also get to see spurts of fumaroles along the way. Trans Siberian / Trans Mongolian Railroad: Winter 2016
Просмотров 117 тыс.7 лет назад
I loved every moment. We took the Trans-Siberian/Trans-Mongolian from Moscow to Beijing in the dead of winter for six days straight. No wifi, no technology. Just 7,621 km (4,735 miles) of snow, birches, huddled wooden houses, steaming samovars, rickety dining cars, frozen lakes, and the hypnotic sound of the rumbling train tracks. It was the experience of a lifetime. For more information, we fo...

Every night at 9 PM, people bang pots and pans to protest the current government. At a party, in lieu of pots and pans, people make a noise with cutlery, plates, or anything else they may have around.

A beautiful memory. <3
I don't understand why anybody would want to go to Siberia in winter. Coldest place on the planet. 🥶
Ну сели в поезд заварили лапши что тут особенного?
Thank Putin . Russsia ..barva
Thank you for the lovely video! I hope, you did feel the warmth of Russia, despite the cold. When the heart is glowing and is beating strongly, you cannot possibly be cold!
Thank you for your lovely comment! Yes, we did feel the warmth of Russia. It was a place of incomparable beauty.
@@myheartisanapple2 Thank you! Glad, you were happy in Russia! Watching your journey, a song from my childhood (1963) came to mind, called “The Blue Taiga”. You can listen to it here, if you want: ruclips.net/video/IGXDU75G8yc/видео.html And the lyrics’ translation is below. Greetings to America! The Blue Taiga Tomorrow we’ll hit the road again, A tedious journey awaits us from early morning on, It’s good to sit at least a bit Around the fire. But, rippling like a wave A waltz has touched the river bank, While around, all around us, Is the blue taiga! Near the taiga river, Together at the tent, You and I, are turning adrift In a silent waltz. And the forest meadow Is gently swirling, While around, all around us Is the blue taiga! Our dates are not frequent On this taiga trail, For the happiness wrought in toil We are grateful to fate. And this simple tent Is dear to you and me, While around, all around us Is the blue taiga. Tomorrow we’ll hit the road again, A tedious journey awaits us from early morning on, It’s good to sit at least a bit Around the fire. But, rippling like a wave A waltz has touched the river bank, While around, all around us, Is the blue taiga!

What a beautiful place! And I love the OST you chose 😉😉 So nice to see you guys ❤️❤️
Flora! We listened to this album nonstop the whole time we were there. Beaches, sun, beauty...how could we not listen to something Spanish?
Chambao was perfect for the scenery! Miss you, Flo! <3
I took the Trans-Siberian in reverse from Beijing to Moscow in June, 1990. Part of a train trip from Hong Kong to Berlin. It was the trip of a lifetime. Enjoyed very minute. Would love to do it in the winter to get the real feel of Russia. However, in this age of covid, travel will be off the books for quite some time. Loved your video. Thanks for the memories.
I'm hoping to do it the reverse way in summer sometime! It really is the trip of a lifetime. There are no words to describe it.
Hi friends the money is very important there around folks.i'm just back off gridders Clyde memories in translation as effort stored decpits

Great trip! We did the transmongolian railway and we have wonderful memories of that trip. ruclips.net/video/qMlOO7dZUhQ/видео.html
You usually cross Volga on day 1, not day 4. Day 4 it should be Yenisey river. Actually, it must be Yenisey, because it's little downstream from a huge dam that mixes water up and prevents it from freezing in winter. It's always foggy there in Krasnoyarsk.
Yes, I know! I corrected it in a previous comment. :)
i'm here where are you ?
Super video !ciao da Italy !👏💟👍✋
golly, hope the train was warm. very nice video
It was pretty warm, but at night you need to make sure you have enough blankets!
Very nice and inspirational travel I have always wanted to do! Thank you!
Thank you! I hope you get a chance to go!
I am intended to do this trip in winter 2020 (first i need to safe money) , really nice to see how beautiful this trip is. Thanks for sharing.
Best of luck! You'll love it!
😱😱😲😲😍😍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
You got off the train and stayed in Omsk and a few places - How cold did it feel off the train - did you walk to a hotel or get a taxi to a hotel ?
Hi! We stayed on the train for all 6 days. We only got out for the short stops along the way (up to 50 minutes). It was very cold, about -23 Celsius.
I like ,,,,2016 I was there with my friend
It's beautiful, isn't it?
Which month did you travel? What was the temperature like, on the train (..warm, by the looks of things)? If I did it in February, alone, would it be a busy train then? Is it worth upgrading to 1st, and booking sole occupancy? Is this train 4, or 20?
We traveled in January/February. It was always warm except a bit of a chill coming through the cracks at night. Bring a warm sleeping bag. It was not busy! As two travelers, we booked two bottom berths in 2nd class, and we had nobody join us. As for upgrading to 1st, the price difference was too great for our budget, but it would be great to have a shower!
Thank you for your reply, thats very useful. Were there others on the train (non Russians) that were "western'/ friendly types, that you could chat with ?@@myheartisanapple2
@@1292liam Yes, we made some great friends on that train that have since come to visit us twice since! It's a very bonding experience.
ah thats great to know. I was going to go by myself + I might be brave and go for a lower bunk in a 4 berth (as the price is so much easier on the wallet, than first) - perhaps I should pack some board games and see if my compartment roomies are up for that! I don't suppose there's any way of phoning up the railway company to book the ticket, and asking them to put me in a berth with 'english speaking foreign nation' travellers, so Id have to hope for the best!@@myheartisanapple2
@@1292liam You can't request English speaking, but there's always a way to communicate! I had whole conversations with a Mongolian guy in the corridors in which we didn't understand a word each other said. We would point and laugh. Wonderful experience no matter what.
great trip , great video! why do people keep saying it's depressive? i was thinking about making this trip on May.. but I wanna see this winter landscape...
People don't seem to get the concept of quiet contemplation. ;) Anyway, the winter landscape is stunning, and it fulfilled all of my Russian novel fantasies. But now I want to do it in summer, too! It will be fabulous no matter when you do it.
Also, what a relief to finally watch a travel video without an EDM backing track!
I'm just relieved you're not telling me to smile!
I was just thinking the same thing . How nice not to hear that
@@myheartisanapple2 smile ;) ..lol. Looks like fun . I've been all over the US . I so want to see other parts of the world as well . Good on you while you're young
@@MrCtsSteve Thanks! So much in the world to see, and so much in the US alone. I also like that you think we're young at nearly 40! :)
@@MrCtsSteve Or when you're not young! That would be me!! :) No money when I was young.
I love the way this was shot, reminds me of Gaspar Noe (I wonder if he had any influence on your taste?)
No, but thank you. That's an interesting comparison.
How much price of ticket? If not too expensive, our family will try it.
We bought it through the website Real Russia (see link above), and it was pretty expensive. But I've heard that if you buy single tickets and take local trains across Russia, it can be a lot cheaper. Check the website The Man in Seat 61 (link also above) for suggestions. Hope you can do it!
Wonderful!!
This was beautiful! No narration (or little).. A picture(s) is worth a thousand words! Thank you for posting this. 😀
Thank you so much for your nice comment! :)
I'm just suprised the train didn't end at a gulag! Lol jk Awesome video it's cool seeing Siberia like that. I always enjoyed adventures and read a lot about Siberia always wanted to take the trans Siberian express. I can understand why y'all aren't going to be so happy looking in this video and train ride through the largest country on earth, in one of the coldest places on earth would probably take a lot out of you.
No, it's so beautiful! Time to reflect.
Your books of propaganda fiction are stupid and fixated on the past of Russia. Your brain is stuck in the Gulag. Why don't you blame the us for the slave trade? The mockery of blacks, the genocide of the Indians?
Great videos, guys. Thank you so much.
Thank you Rolanda!
We loved them. The best winter RUclips video out there. We go in nov
I am excited for you! You will have the trip of a lifetime! :)
Oh my good
Oh wow whoever thought of the track changer was a genius
It's incredible to witness!
how much does this cost for the trip?
Hello! The cost really varies depending on which class you select and whether or not you take the train without stopping versus stopping along the way. This site helped me a lot: www.seat61.com/Trans-Siberian.htm
Very depressive video. Spent a lot of money to feel so upset. Poor you!
Thank you for taking time out of your day to make misinterpret my emotions and make me feel bad!
Sorry for making you feel bad. I am from Siberia. From the first sight I thought you did not like my country (e.g. your comment "no wifi, no technology"). But now I understand that I was wrong. Thanks for visiting Russia and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
We LOVED it! This is one of the greatest trips of my entire life, and I've been to more than 40 countries. I just don't show it the way other people do! Thank you for explaining. :)
You guys are BORING!! You need to learn How to narrate and talk about things. seems you guys don't even know how to communicate among yourselves. Heck I would've started a fucking party on Board!! with Salsa Dancing and all!!! I noticed the dining car had a Disco ball but also the tables had one leg and you could fold them all up. Throw a freaking Salsa party there!! Russians (as the whole world) love to dance Salsa!!
Uh, we made this for us and our families, not for you. You're boring. Ever consider that not every moment of this was on video? Thank you for taking the time to come here and shit on my memories.
I hope I never run into you while I'm traveling. You seem like the immature type that would irritate everyone. A salsa party in winter on the Trans-Siberian? I don't think so. You have zero sense of occasion. Piss off.
That's what You think!! That's why you're so f BORING!! Heck I have started Salsa parties while stuck at the airport!! waiting for hours when something happens. and people just join in. and keeps people from being pissed off and have fun. even the airport personnel approved!! LOL instead of dealing w pissed off passengers!! ruclips.net/video/a7FR7880WsA/видео.html
Still droning on about salsa? I've experienced salsa in Havana and it was beautiful. But winter in Siberia inspires poetry and reflection. Maybe pick up a book.
So lucky you to have taken this trip! ...And yeah, I agree with some comments here: Sometimes you looked depressed. If I were there, my body would be overflowing with joy at watching every single landscape and seeing every single face. In my country (Chile), there used to be a long railroad service (not as long as this one, of course) from a city called La Calera (a station halfway between Santiago and Valparaíso, in central Chile) to Iquique (in the north). This railroad's moniker was "El Longino" and it crossed the Atacama Desert! The trip used to take between 4-5 days. The service ended in the mid-1970s. Congratulations for your trip!
I was beyond happy. Not all of us show that demonstratively. I wish people didn't jump to conclusions.
Great video. What was the outside temperature like. How much does a first class ticket cost in USD
now in Siberia -40 С temperatur
