    Many thanks for the tips, until recently I hadn't realized that Mario updated his favorite way to tackle ED and it's a relief! Although what he previously suggested was pretty good, it was a real pain to follow... I just go'ogled Mario Volpstein , it's so much simpler and potent now!

    i did surgery ,i advice all first 2 weeks no weight bearing just relax and wear boot 3week and 4 you should do exercise with boot to make ur upper leg muscles strong ,dont walk by boot without crutches at week5 and 6 ,week 7 take off ur boot and ur leg will be strong cuz u did exercise on it with boot before then start physio with physio u should walk normally without limp in 12 session ,be positive ,if u want to know about exercise send me messages to send u the link

    I would have to say this is very conservative looking post op achilles. I am 2.5 months after surgery, had a cast for 2 weeks and boot for 4 weeks. Currently I am able to walk normally for longer walks (7-8kms) and am working on strenghtening my calf. Not being able to walk after 3 months is not very normal.

      I'm 3 months post op and have been walking for nearly a month, without a limp but can't speed walk or run yet. I suggest pushing yourself a little more as pain and movement permits.

    Is it normal that a week after surgery (total rupture), if I lift my leg with the boot, after a few minutes my foot starts to swell because of gravity? No matter how I place my foot, I feel that swelling because of the weight of the boot probably. It’s so annoying

      Graston massages do not feel good lol. They help tremendously but they are painful. You can literally feel the tissues breaking down.

      I'm 3 months post surgery and get similar massages to break down scar tissue. It is literally the most pain I've ever experienced in my life, worse than the actual tear.

    Never waste time with shockwave therapy. Meticulous and systemic dry needling in conjunction with electrical stimulation and corrective exercises

      To be clear, are you referring to radial shockwave or focused shockwave?? There is more than sufficient literature showing that shockwave, whether radial or focused is a successful modality, especially when used with corrective exercises. Corrective exercises should underpin everything we do, and we should look at multi-modality approaches. But I wouldn't go as far as saying it is a waste of time..

      @@dominicsmith771 to clarify and expand. The most effective and practical approach to treating myofascial trigger points is dry needling and spinal segmental desensitization. There about 500 papers with objective and measurable results. From the likes Jan Dommeeholt, Jay P Shah, Sikdar, travell and simmons, Stecco, C Chan Ginn. Please post some of these articles or peer reviewed studies of shockwave therapy for myofascial trigger points

      @@eppystein2953 I don't disagree with that, but from my own personal perspective, I can't tolerate needles and I have many patients who don't like the thought of needles either. Shockwave is a, sound, non-invasive modality that can support other modalities, a quick look for some papers: Comparison of radial shockwave and dry needling therapies in the treatment of myofascial pain syndrome : Sukareechai, 2019 Comparison of the Effectiveness of Two Different Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy Regimens in the Treatment of Patients With Myofascial Pain Syndrome İrfan 2014 There are also papers that have looked at how focused shockwave reduces C-nerve fibre growth and also reduces levels of Substance P not to mention increasing angiogenesis tissue growth factors (Moya 2018 - The Role of ESWT n MSK Disorders)
